💪🏼💥💪🏼In the wonderful world of bicep curls everyone keeps doing the same 3 exercises over & over wondering why their arms don't look better.
😉So here you have 6 different ways to do bicep curls. -
🔑 No matter what kind of curl you do there's a few huge points you want to take home:
✅Lock your shoulder blades in
✅Have zero excessive movement from anywhere else-rocking, swaying, or cheating
✅Focus on bringing your forearm to your upper arm--not just lifting the dumbbell
👇I'll leave some of the more specific cues for each down below.
The biggest thing with spider curls is driving your chest into the bench with the same intensity as your curl.
Drive your shoulder blades & elbows back the whole time & keep your head & back on the bench.
These can be done a bunch of different ways just be sure you have the attachment you want & the pulley is where you want it.
Keep those thumbs up the whole time.
Be sure you drive your upper arm down into the pad with the same intensity as you're curling. Also, don't come up too much other wise you'll lose all the tension.
Just keep your elbows up & don't let habit take over & let your back pull you up.

#flexfriday for this week is after a workout that was scheduled for 5:30am this morning but was finished just now. My body was so tired after all of the early mornings this week and sleep is very important for fitness, so I listened to my body and snuck in some extra rest. However this evening my husband and I did NOT want to work out. We are a great team though, and got each other through it. I’ll be honest. I’ve been feeling a little stuck all week. I woke up yesterday feeling like I just wanted to stay in the bed and sleep and sleep and sleep.
I could have chosen that, and it would have been ok. But for me personally, I know that the only way I ever get unstuck is action. .
Lifting always reminds me of how strong I am and how resilient I am. Strength training is the exact thing that helped me realize that if I could show up strong and powerfully, then I could transfer that same energy into other areas of my life.
When I initially got into fitness it was with the intent to shrink my body, lose that extra body fat, get rid of the jiggle…all that stuff. But what I *actually* learned from fitness over the years is that I’m powerful beyond measure and that the magic doesn’t happen in shrinking; it happens in showing up more powerfully and creating a space for others to do the same.
As a strength and nutrition coach, I’ll help you reach your goals whether they be strength goals or physique and fat loss goals, but I hope that I can help you do more than just that (if you want more…no worries if you don’t). I hope I can you help you feel empowered, comfortable, and confident in your skin (like I now do) so that you can focus your energy on doing YOUR work in the world (whatever that may be).
So yeah….I did a pistol squat the other day, and it felt great. While I still don’t have all the answers, I’m more clear on what I need to be doing, and I’m reminded to keep taking action and the answers will show up.

Skipped my morning workout due to early morning allergy testing for my son today and where did this get me? It got me to the lazy state of mind. I found myself putting it off because it was getting late and I was getting tired, but I decided to pull myself together mentally and physically and just do it! I knew if I had skipped today that I’d be letting my challenge group down, as well as myself and to me, that’s just not worth it. Finding that inner strength is never easy but knowing you could potentially let someone else down is what gets me going. I never want to appear as a failure to those who look up to me for inspiration. So today I chose to push play and tomorrow and the next day and so on! 👊🏻
I'm having a GREAT hair day. Other than that, my day has been shit... 3 days of poor nutrition caught up with me fast. On the bright side, this feeling is reinforcing all the changes I've been making. Going to the grocery store TOMORROW and setting myself up for success! We all make mistakes. No one is perfect. Got my run in today… trying to get ready for a 5K on Sunday. 🏃🏻♀️For some reason I always have some anxiety before I go for a run. Not sure what it is, but it always goes away once I get running. In the past, that little bit of anxiety would be enough for me to make excuses and not get my workout in. That’s one of the things my online accountability group really helps with. I see all the other girls getting their workouts in and it pushes me to get mine in too! There will always be excuses, but excuses don’t lead to results. My stress levels were through the roof today 😰
So instead of coming home from work and letting it ruin my entire night... ✔️I made a yummy nutrition shake
✔️Put on my workout gear
✔️And have myself a good 30 minutes to stretch and relieve some tension
I did two workouts tonight and I feel great. Why? Everyday I show up and do something it gets a easier and I get to push myself more to reach my goals.
You see I do struggle everyday to do it, I try to find an excuse not to do it. Wishing that the body I wanted would just magically appear. 😂 yeah that hasn't worked for me the past 40 years. So I know that I just need to do it because there isn't a magic pill, just plain old diet and hard work.

What a great Friday! I had a wonderful day at work, my assistant brought me a little treat, tonight I had a girl date with @finehamabounds, and tomorrow I get to sleep in and go to Super Saturday! The only thing nagging at me is the plantar fasciitis I seem to have developed. I've taken the past two days off working out to let it resolve, but it seems stubborn. Hopeful that tomorrow's Core de Force live workout doesn't aggravate it too much. Send heeling vibes, please!
