Behind closed doors.

In this day and age, unfortunately, that negative body talk has become the norm.

Most of us have some kind of insecurities!! No matter how outwardly good looking we are, there’s always some one who is better looking.

There’s always someone to compare your body to.

Our NATURAL INCLINATION is to concentrate on our negative qualities. Sometimes we can be so hard on ourselves!!

And although that’s natural, IT IS NOT OKAY.
It’s not okay to beat ourselves up for our imperfections.
Because despite your imperfections, you are PERFECT in the eyes of the one who created you! God doesn’t make mistakes.

You are beautiful.
You are strong.
You are worthy of love.
You are smart.
You are unique.
You are enough.

So yeah, there’s my cellulite everyone. But instead of body shaming myself for that “imperfection”, I’m going to focus on reminding myself what I remind you all of-

I’m taking this week to sort out and plan how I’m going to fit in these workouts along side my Spartan Training. I’m three days in and I’m feeling optimistic that I can do it as long as I get enough rest at night and continue to fuel my body the right way! Day 1 starts tomorrow for me! So this is my before photos i wanted to share. I’ve had a lot of people recently tell me I look great. But this pay month since I have been home for winter recess has been  A tough one on my physical fitness and how my body feels. My body isn’t used to eating lots of sugar and to many carbs and fats. In result I’ve gained some weight and also become very bloated! But I am not ashamed because at some point this happens to EVERYONE! So what am I doing to fix this? I’ll be using my meal plan from Beachbody along with its portion control containers. I’ll be mixing in 3 days of weight training as well as my Core de Force workouts. Ill be taking my apple cider vinegar daily! And of course drinking my shakologey! So here’s to new beginnings and the sweating for the wedding! 🎉✨💜💍

It’s not always about small waists, thick thighs, toned arms, and nice butts 🤷🏽‍♀️... Progress doesn’t always have to be physical. Getting abs and losing weight is great and all, But the fitness journey is as much of a mental path as it is a physical one. You have to learn to care about yourself more than you care for the things that are keeping you from good health. You have to learn to desire better; learn to desire more; and learn to quit settling, or going half way and then turning back around. If you get your mind right and truly start caring about yourself, your desires, and your health .. then all that nice physical fluff with follow. NOVEL on COMPARISON: On the real, real, though, I’m just so damn sick of myself and constant comparisons. She’s prettier. She’s fitter. She’s richer. She’s more successful. She’s smarter. It’s tiring to be on a constant cycle of self-doubt. This morning I found myself in a rabbit hole of another blogger I look up to, endlessly scrolling and pitying myself more. & then I snapped out of it. I literally had to close Pinterest (I was looking at how many repins her photos get and thinking about all the page views she must receive) and had a self-chat. Listen, self, her success does not take away from your hard work. Her triumphs don’t mean that I won’t have triumphs. There is enough room in the world for each one of us to see the prosperity of our hard work, and taking time to put myself down based off of the comparison of another only takes away from the hours I could spend putting myself up. The only thing you should ever feel bad about is not working, trying, or putting forth your best (& then paying it forward). This is a life lesson that I have had to learn over and over again; I’ll probably continue to relearn this lesson throughout my life. Just remember (and especially if I have ever made you feel this way): the worth of your soul does not depend on another.

What are my eating habits?

I get asked this question a lot so I thought I would go in depth with you.

Monday- Friday of MOST weeks, I CALORIE COUNT and hit specific MACRO percentages. ✅

Let me break this down for you. I’m going to put this in as simplistic terms as possible. Things are about to get slightly mathematical 🤓 but hang in there with me!!

1️⃣CALORIE COUNTING: if you are eating MORE calories than your body needs, you will begin to gain weight. If you are on a calorie deficit you will begin to lose weight.
.
3,500 calories = 1 pound. BOOM. Magic number right there. 💥💥
.
In theory, if over the course of ONE WEEK you cut out 3,500 calories, you will lose ONE pound of weight. #science

3,500 divided by 7 days in a week is 500 calories a day than you would need to cut out if you want to lose weight. This is a SAFE amount of calories to be cutting per day. It’s not extreme. Slow and steady wins the race 🚴🏼‍♂️

So for example, let’s say the average human needs 2,000 calories a day. (Although in reality some people need more than 2,000 and some need less. The amount you need depends on: male/female, height/weight/body fat percentage, sedentary/activity levels).

Anyway, If you cut out 500 calories a day from a 2,000 calorie diet, you’d be eating 1,500 calories in a day.
.
So, PERSONALLY, Monday through Friday, I’m on around a 500 calorie deficit each day because I’m trying to get a little leaner and because of #4 on this list. Most days in the week I eat 1800 calories.

2️⃣ MACRO COUNTING. 100% of what you eat every day is either a
CARB
PROTEIN
or a FAT.

Carbs can range from breads and pastas to veggies and fruit. Oh and wine/ beer and cake.
CARBS ARE GOOD FOR YOU! Please DO NOT go on a Zero Carb Diet. That would mean you can’t eat fruits and vegetables, which would be ridiculous. You need carbs for energy. 40% of my daily food intake is a carb.

Protein is SO important for you to gain muscle and lose fat. Try to get protein from the most direct sources as possible, like chicken, ground turkey, fish, eggs, etc.
