Yesterday’s food log. 😍

This doesn’t even include the breakfast burrito I had before my workout! So much food, but it’s all FUELING my body. Not only does it taste good but it’s filling me up and helping me push through my workouts + recover for the next day. 
Only a day and a half into this timed nutrition and I’m already hooked. I never felt starving yesterday (except when Jesse and i were running errands for longer than planned 😂) and I was never overly stuffed. 🙌🏼 I think I can get used to these spaced out smaller meals! 😍🎉 Have you ever done something similar to this?! How’d you like it, if you have?!

So you're getting in the gym for the first-or tenth time and you want to make your time the most productive but aren't sure how. Should you focus on lots of crunch variations? Should you do lots of arm exercises with light dumbbells? Should you do endless amounts of steady state cardio?

Although the above is better than nothing, if you want to make SUBSTANTIAL changes to your body composition (👇🏼fat and 👆🏼lean muscle aka get "more toned"), you'll want to prioritize compound exercises with the goal of getting stronger over time.

So what does that mean?! A compound exercise is a multi joint exercise that when done, requires the body to work systematically to perform the movement. These types of exercises have a much larger impact on the metabolism than light arm exercises, crunches and steady state cardio. Some examples: squat, lunge, deadlift, push-up, row, lat pull down, etc.

When prioritized 3-5 times per week while progressively increasing resistance/sets/reps, BIG changes will happen!!

Sharing those before photos is always scary and so is shouting from the rooftops that I’m committing to an 80 DAY program + nutrition program...never done this before y’all!! But having all of you here spreading the love pumps me up even more. If you’re in this journey as well, good luck to you 💕 if you are wishing you could start your journey, I hope I can be that extra inspiration and push for you to believe you can start this. You CAN make changes for yourself, you’ve just gotta decide. 💕

Happy MONDAY #fitfam! Today I did one of ihearmacros whip workouts and it was so good! I’ll post it in the comments 👇🏼 I may have a new calorie high for these workouts with 773 total and 650 active 😱 This is definitely a workout you’ll want to try! I actually didn’t even have time to do the last circuit (because I’m always late 🤦🏻‍♀️) and I ran a mile then did about 5 minutes of 30/30 sprints for my cardio after. Oh and of course I was listening to The Greatest Showman soundtrack on repeat 🙌🏼 #csechallenge #csewintersweat2018

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR CHEST TWICE A WEEK by @jmaxfitness

As you know, I'm a big advocate of training each body part twice a week.
-
But if you're doing this, you'll want to have 2 different days: Light Day, and Heavy Day.

Here is an example with your chest. On the heavy day, you're pushing bigger weights with the goal to get stronger in the 4-8 rep range.

On the light day, you're working with higher reps (8-15 rep range), so the weights will naturally be lighter than on your heavy day. But here's where people screw this up: you still need to lift heavy. Aim to get stronger on each and every exercise. Test yourself! Just because it's called a light day, it doesn't mean you should be going light. The goal is to get a nice pump, and we're accomplishing this by training with higher reps.
