14 июня 2017 г. Всемирный день донора крови (World Blood Donor Day).
#WorldAIDSDay , designated on 1 December every year since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the #AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of #HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease.
World AIDS Day is one of the eight official global public health campaigns marked by the World Health Organization (WHO), along with #WorldHealthDay , #WorldBloodDonorDay , #WorldImmunizationWeek , #WorldTuberculosisDay , #WorldNoTobacco Day, #WorldMalariaDay and #WorldHepatitisDay .
As of 2017, AIDS has killed between 28.9 million and 41.5 million people worldwide, and an estimated 36.7 million people are living with HIV, making it one of the most important global public health issues in recorded history. Thanks to recent improved access to antiretroviral treatment in many regions of the world, the death rate from AIDS epidemic has decreased since its peak in 2005 (1 million in 2016, compared to 1.9 million in 2005). For me, this was also a challenge of life, and my first EVER #running#race in #NoviSad#Serbia#5k#runners#runnersofinstagram
It felt right to run for a #cause and I had plenty of #motivation
Tnx @durexcondoms @durex.condoms @durex_company #durex for this tiny gift, and organizers of #durex5Krun for making me overcome my limit and run 5.16km straight on without a break, smt I could not have imagined only 4 weeks ago when I first started with @running_tribe and couldn’t run over 100m without puffing and gasping for air and breath!
I am so #happy !
Believe and just keep going and let yourself be surprised! By yourself! #youcandoit#run#runnergirl#runnerman

I don't normally call for prayers. I am not a religious person. I don't look like one either!
However, I called for prayers at the end of my speech during the recent World Blood Donor Day.
This is what I said. [ Hospital is the place where most sincere prayers are made. It is here where our loved ones who are unwell or are in a state of emergency either come back to be with us or otherwise.
We would normally reach out our hands to pray for the health and safety of our loved ones. However, shouldn't we also pray for the health of the specialists, doctors and hospital staffs?
For that reason, may I also request that we extend our prayers to all the blood donors out there who come voluntarily to help save lives?
A healthy us, a healthy Malaysia! ]
There were a few messages which I wished to convey in my speech during the World Blood Donor Day recently.
Besides how I started my speech, here is another one! [ I started to donate blood on 6th December 1982 while I was studying in Penang. (Applause)
I attended a youth camp where one of the programmes was blood donation. I voluntered myself to donate blood. Since then until today, or to be exact on 30th June 2017, I have donated a total of 99 times. (Applause)
Thank you for your applause. I am not here to praise myself but to share a message.
Out of the 99 times that I have donated, 4 of them were in Penang, one was in Klang and one in Kuala Lumpur. The rest were all donated in Tawau! (Applause)
If we were to calculate, every time we take 450cc of blood and we add them up all together, I have actually donated more than 44 litre of blood! (Applause)
In an adult human body we only have 5 litre of blood.
If, on the second line of our national anthem, Negaraku it says "Tanah tumpahnya darahku" (The land where I shed my blood / The land where I sacrify myself), then it is in Tawau that I shed my blood to all those who need it! (Applause)
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, imagine how many people in Tawau whom I do not know are carrying my blood! (Applause) And how many of them are also carrying the blood of other blood donors? (Applause)
Don't you think that makes us brothers and sisters? We are all brothers and sisters despite whatever differences that we have! (Applause) ]
Many people thought my speech during the World Blood Donor Day yesterday would be another ordinary speech that they have heard. However I made it different, even from the very beginning. Well, that's me!
This is how I started my speech. [ Despite all our differences or how we have been divided, the facts remain. Our blood is the same. The colour of our blood is the same, as red as the red shirt I am wearing now! (Applause)
We are all brothers and sister. We are all in a big family. (Audience nodding)
Therefore, may I address you as my brothers and sisters? (Applause)
Good morning my brothers and sisters! ]
Yes, I planned on how I wanted to begin my speech and I planned even what to wear!
I have another fan!🤣 He heard my speech when he was donating his blood. He couldn't agree more when I said as blood donors we have more brothers and sisters because they have our blood running in their bodies!
That's why he came up to me when we were having lunch!🤣 #BloodDonation#WorldBloodDonorDay
恭喜妳， Megumi Thian Joon Ming!👍👍👍 妳终于捐出妳的第一包血！
Responding my earlier postings on World Blood Donor Day, she took up the courage and challenge and made her first donation today! Congratulations!❤️❤️❤️ #BloodDonation#WorldBloodDonorDay
I have a fan!😀 She walked up to me after my speech and agreed with me that we are all brothers and sisters as we have the same blood. So she requested to have a photo with her brother, me!❤️ She is among the donors who have donated 60 times and more!❤️ #BloodDonation#WorldBloodDonorDay
