Imagine camping on a remote beach in
Washington. Stacks of rock, hundreds of feet tall, loom just between the high and low tide lines. The winter waves are so powerful they deposit hundreds of trees up to 8 feet in diameter at the top of the beach. The enormous driftwood lays scattered like matchsticks. Park rangers encourage burning the driftwood to help control the amount on the beach. On clear summer nights, thousands of stars are visible the entire night, and it's easy to justify keeping the fire going and watching stars until the early hours of the morning.
