This beautiful skein of yarn aka happy/squishy mail came for me today! It was gorgeous in photos, but is even prettier in person! @oldsoulfiberco, I have to say, I love your slogan- "whatever makes your soul happy- do it!". Great advice for this colour addicted knitter! #oldsoulfiberco#gardenparty#happymail#squishymail#knittersgonnaknit#whatevermakesyoursoulhappydoit
Ahh hemp and wool in simple, earthy colors. I love this color way. This was supposed to be the color way for my WIP. However, the universe had other plans for the project😂😂😂😂. ...
I ended up taking a very different turn on this WIP on the morning I started it. I just felt pulled in a different direction. That's when I moved in the direction on light/dark black/light grey. I love how projects emerge like that. I like to listen to those instincts when I am weaving. I always end up liking what I create when I do. This is certainly the tension between planning and letting a weave organically emerge. I love exploring that grey area between those two approaches.
This is a friendly reminder to all you deep thinking, mindful weavers out there that the #loomwisdom tag is calling for you to use it. What have you been pondering while you have been working lately? I'm sure there are a bunch of us that would like to know! I know I would!
New colorway alert! 🚨 This is called Bourbon and Boudin and it's inspired by this photo from Emril's annual Boudin, Bourbon, and Beer festival. Boudin (pronounced BOO-dan) is a type of sausage with pork, onions, and rice that's made here in South Louisiana and although I don't eat it, it's a fun part of Louisiana cuisine. My dad actually has had some unfortunate experiences with sketchy boudin he's bought at gas stations. 😂 I've got this colorway on Soft, Tough, and Lush Sock and I've got some pulled aside for a few ready-to-ship Fade kits! I'll be posting more sneak peeks today and tomorrow, and the update goes live tomorrow, 8/18 at 5PM CT 🐷🥃🍺
I'm dying to show you my newest project...but it's not quite time! So here's a teaser. My exclusive new colorway will be part ofa totally awesome, badass set that you'll definitely want to get in on! Details coming soon!
Our Weaving Technique Series I: Leno Lace will be held on Sunday, August 27th from 10 am to 12 pm. Class 1: Leno Lace. The Leno stitch creates a lace-like structure. It is made by twisting warp threads around each other before the weft is inserted. The crossed warp threads create holes that produce a lace effect.
Materials and Supplies needed: Rigid heddle loom, minimum 7” weaving width • 8 dent reed • 2 shuttles • 1 pick-up stick • The Weaver's Idea Book by Jane Patrick • Needle/darning needle • Safety pins/paper for measuring • Tape measure • Scissors - Yarns 2 skeins - 1 must be contrast: Berocco Modern Cotton; Cascade Ultra Pima; or Tahki Stacy Charles Cotton Classic
There is HOMEWORK for this class - Homework MUST BE DONE before class! Warp for 71", 6 inches in reed (48 ends); Weave “junk” header; Weave 1” in weft yarn and then hemstitch. 71" warp will be enough for all of the classes, providing you do not remove your work from the loom and re-tie between classes. If you choose to weave a longer section for each class, you will need to account for additional yarn for warp and weft. Additionally, if you are not taking all five (5) classes, you may not need as much warp, depending of the length of your weaving. Call the shop if you have any questions.
Requirements: Must have taken Intro to Weaving and be able to hemstitch (call shop if you have questions). Rigid Heddle Loom required.
Seating is limited to be able to give individual attention to each student. So register before the class fills up. Come by or call to register. 954-742-1908. #sheepthrillsfl#weave#weavers#weaving#weavingclass#weaversofinstagram#linolace#yarn#yarnshop#yarnstagram#yarnsofinstagram#yarninspiration#neverstoplearning

Oh HAI!!!!! What's better than yummy yarn and makeup? 💋Nothing!!! At least in my mind! This is a video clip showing off a gorgeous @pluckyknitter haul and beautiful eyeshadow from @toofaced which is back in stock. I saw it in my @ultabeauty store last week! It smells amazing and the colors are beautiful with the yarn. A gorgeous match for fall in unexpected colors. You know I LOVE unexpected!

The ballerina cardigan I made for my daughter turned out to be very useful, so now that summer has finally arrived in Denmark 😅 I am making her one in cotton instead of wool. What are you making at the moment?

I love these colours together so much! I dyed them last week for my Oracle shawl by @voolenvine. They are an homage to the colours Kristin used in hers. I hadn't been able to get a hold of one of her kits and you know, lack of 💰 makes that even harder so I decided to try to dye my own. Super happy with the result! Now just to finish my current test knit so I can cast on! I've kept these skeins near my knitting sofa as incentive! 😄
