Day 5 of #soulgoodyoga is this really hard pose utpluti. I had to improvise and use my heels from last night as blocks. Had a wonderful day visiting a friend. The act of kindness was to treat myself so my friend and I walked into a salon and got a much needed haircut 💇 it felt so good to get my head massaged and now my hair feels healthy!

With practice, the sense of stillness and peace will deepen. In fact, there is no end to its depth. You will also feel a subtle emanation of joy arising from deep within: the joy of Being.
In this state of inner connectedness, you are much more alert, more awake than in the mind-identified state. You are fully present. It also raises the vibrational frequency of the energy field that gives life to the physical body.

Translated roughly, it means "I bow to the light within you that is also part of me", or "The Spirit within me salutes the Spirit in you" - a knowing that we are all made from the same divine consciousness. A reminder that we are all one.

The only "workout" I do is yoga. For me, one of the ways I'm being kind to my body is by practicing yoga and focusing on low impact physical activities such as walking. Yoga covers all your physical needs from cardio, flexibility, and strength. What's even more great about yoga is the added benefit of deep breathing, mind body connection, and spiritual growth.

Day 23 of #yogaeverydamnday was a slow practice (I used the hyper lapse camera so it seems quicker than it was.) i sat with my thoughts and even had to run out of my practice when I heard the washer beep, but thought it was the fire alarm. I made the camera fall and got back on my mat as soon as I realized nothing had happened. But that is life. That's real. That was my practice. Why hide it? Why pretend to have a perfect quiet practice. When really it was full of a kitten attacking me and being freaked out by beeps and wanting to cry but not feeling like I could. In other news, I got a deep tissue massage today to help release some of the old and bring in some of the new. I feel like I'm on the edge of a rebirth, but I also know I need to give myself space to let this happen on its own. No forcing, only feeling. #yogagirlchallenge @yoga_girl
I've never been much of a writer. Never able to commit to journaling. But I think #stripdownsunday is gonna be my sacred place where once a week I get to release what's been swirling within me. Good, bad, beautiful and ugly.
Anger. I'm angry. There, I said it.
I've been so off and it took Kevin a whole 2 minutes to point out why when I started to breakdown and cry yesterday. Explaining to him how I just don't know what's going on with me but I'm just not me right now. He said that's exactly it. I'm not out climbing every trail I can find, pushing my body to its physical limit to get to that sweet waterfall or summit or viewpoint. Normally, during this time of year I'd be out hiking every single day I'm not working. Scouting out my next ass burner, my next summit to reach, leaving all of my frustrations with life in the dirt as I wipe the sweat off my face.
But no. I'm here, sitting on the couch. Lucky if I have it in me to walk a half a mile. Now don't get me wrong, I am unbelievably thankful for the progress I've had since surgery and I'm not saying I'm not finding some joy in life everyday but I'M FUCKING MAD! I can't be Mary fucking sunshine all damn day. It hurts to walk, to sit, to drive, to work, to sleep. I am tired of people staring at me, using my brace as a conversation starter. The brace, don't even get me started about this piece of shit. It doesn't fit, it itches, it gets caught on things, I can't even sit down normally on a toilet. I can't sleep for more than a few hours at a time. I'm exhausted, I'm over it and I MISS BEING ME! I miss working out, pushing myself, sweating. I know by this time next year it's very likely I'll be better than ever. Back to all the adventures with 100x more appreciation.....
But for right now, today... I'm angry. Simply angry. .
