Let's get lifted.
It's the 15th day of our 24 Yogis 'til Christmas series and today we have our lovely student Gemma who has been coming to classes since we opened our studio close to her office earlier this year.
"It just occurred to me at my last yoga class that this pose has suddenly changed for me and I found myself coming out of it thinking, ‘wow, that felt amazing’ and I felt strong. When did that happen? Not suddenly of course but over the past 6 months. I remember very clearly being so frustrated at my body for never lasting the full count in the pose, always having to stop and start. Then one day, after turning up to a class when I could and always listening to each of the instructions to get into a pose and safely out has built the strength I was seeking! Thank you Hot Yoga for always making this a space I want to spend time in!" Thank you Gemma for taking the time to share this beautiful pose with us, it's been an absolute pleasure to have you at class each week and see your hard work paying off.
Our Yogis series is open to anyone who'd like to join in, just think of your favourite pose and let us snap a quick photo which we will share with your comment!
TGIF! Make this day count!

This gentle stretch feels really good after sitting at a desk. Blood rushes to the head and with it a fresh flow of oxygen. Don't force the stretch, just let it unfold: with each outbreath let the weight of your head release that tension so that you feel lighter and refreshed 👌🏼✨
You can’t run from the shadow but you can invite it to dance 💃🏽. 📸 @actionhiro

Where are you right now? What are you doing!?😊💕❤💕❤💕❤
I'm in a hotel room near Cancún airport. Today we are going back to Italy! We just got notified that our flights have been changed, so we need to wait until the evening. Which means a lot of time organizing photos from our Mexico trip! So many of them!! This month has been very productive photography wise and I'm so happy about it. Where are you right now? What are you doing!? ❤💞❤💞❤💞

January can be a rough month. We are rising out of all the stress of the holidays, adjusting to a more regular work schedule, perhaps dealing with consequences from the holidays financially, emotionally or physically, and still have short daylight hours to contend with. That is all challenging enough, but then we sprinkle on all the media messages about New Year’s resolutions and cries of “A New Year, A New You!” I’m calling bullshit.
I don’t want to speak for you, but I’m going to take a guess that you do not need something else in your life to beat yourself up about. Am I right? I know it is certainly true for me. I do not have hard numbers to back me up, but I feel safe in saying that most traditional New Year’s resolutions fail. So why set yourself up for failure? Be radical and set yourself up for success instead!
I feel one of the reasons for the high failure rate of resolutions is because the seeds are planted in a place of negativity and judgment. Think of it like planting the seed for a banana tree in the middle of a desert. There is no way a tropical, humidity loving plant is going to succeed, let alone thrive, in such an arid climate even if the temperatures are similar.
What would happen if instead of latching onto the resolutions the media tells us we should adopt, which let’s face it are designed to make us spend money in pursuit of goals that are often too rigid and unrealistic, we turned inwards and set intentions for our continuing evolution from a place of self-compassion?
That is what this vision board workshop is about. It is about reconnecting your mind and body, finding stillness so you can dive deep into what it is you truly want/need and planting the seeds to make that happen in a supportive environment.

Only 49 of the 365 San Blas islands are inhabited by the Kuna people. Each community has its own poltical organization led by a saila (sigh-la). The sacred history of the Cuna culture are related and transmit to the people through song.
Balance: one of those funny things that’s there one day and gone the next. Or sometimes you can find it changes minute to minute depending on your mood/ hormones etc. Today mine is a little wobbly ( as you can see 🙈) because I’m full of a horrid head cold which has upset my equilibrium. Often when your feeling out of balance these poses are the last ones we feel like doing but usually that means they are the ones we need the most. A good tip when your feeling wobbly is to practice with your back against a wall. Learn to take support whenever you can get it! And also if you find yourself feeling frustrated as you wobble about in tree pose : remember trees naturally sway in the wind .
LEARNING TO FLY // if we don’t overcome the fear of falling; we’ll never learn to fly. This pose- bakasana- comes up a lot in our yoga classes and it’s one where the fear of falling on our face is real for many students. In all aspects of our life, there is an element of risk. Believe in yourself and take a leap of faith. It’s an essential first step in learning to fly! #kirtswisewords

Hope everyone has a wonderful FriYAY 😘 remember to keep yourself safe over the weekend. In the middle of festive/frosty/feasting party season remember to... 1) DRINK WATER LIKE A THIRSTY HIPPO 💧
2) Wear a coat PLEASE ❄
3) PLEASE wear shoes with grip on them 😨
4) Try and sneak some green shit in between mince pies 🍏
5) Try and sneak some movement and daylight in between Netflix binges ☀
6) Try and love your family even though Christmas turns them into blood-sucking demons 👿
7) Only party with the friends who are willing to hold your hair when you throw up on a night out. Where's the prosecco at?! 😘
