I had a 💩 day yesterday. Like, 💩 all around: too much stuff going south, and all happening at the same time, on all fronts. There was nowhere to run to, nowhere to turn away to, because no matter where I looked, 💩 was hitting the fan there too. So what do you do? Do you give in to panic, or do you breath and (lovingly) fight?

I’ll give you that giving in to panic is so much easier (but also so much more useless.) .
.
I have a tendency to freak out — to get too much in my head, to overthink, and to give in to panic in situations that either have no solution or have a solution that requires a certain amount of effort. .
.
Over the years, I’ve learned to observe myself and identify when this pattern is about to happen.
.
Whenever I find it’s starting to raise its ugly head, I take a step back and make a conscious effort to observe the situation objectively, calibrating worst case scenarios, and breathing into the reality that this is just a test: this doesn’t exist — this is all maya.

🙇 Front and side views REALLY help to show the repurcussions of the wrong angle in the back foot.
👉 From the side view, my hips and shoulders should ideally be in one line and you can clearly see how far forward my right shoulder and hip are?

👉 Another NO! is the back foot... can you see how I am riding onto my big toe and allowing the pinky toe to lift? I often walk past people threatening to stand on their feet to get them back down. 😋😅
Because I am riding forwards on my big toe, I have also lost my structural integrity in my leg, and can you see how much easier it is to bend that knee joint lose the strength and foundation of my leg? 😳

👉 From the front view, can you see what a problem I am causing in the incorrect placement of my front foot? By pigeon toeing my front foot, I am closing my hip in which drags my knee in too.
If I was to duck foot my front leg (ballet stance out) I would be straining my groin out too, so both are not great. 😔
Be very sure to step and keep your foot flat and facing forwards 🙇❤ .

Dharana is the sixth of the eight limbs of Yoga. It refers to concentration of the mind - yes, you need a lot of concentration, focus and balance to do this pose in heels (I was feelin adventurous 😅🙃)⠀

One girl totally new to yoga just said in the middle of the pose: ‘this is my favourite one by far, so far!’.⠀

Another in a different class: ‘this pose is totally what I need right now!’⠀
⠀
This is a really good hip-py (in that body area not new age 😊) for them as it can be quite comforting but also challenging. ⠀
⠀
It’s also good for working with what comes up - feelings - in the body and mind. Observing these sensations/thoughts not getting caught up in them.⠀

This is something I try to bring in a lot in subtle ways in these teen yoga classes.⠀
⠀
It’s also good for tummy trouble in time of month - and I was able to say this as no boys this week who would look horrified at mention 😉⠀

Btw my crazy attire in this week is when the boiler broke for two weeks over cold period. Yoga in thermals and PJs pre warm-up 😆⠀

Koh Phangan has been the perfect place for me. Since nothing here was on solid ground, anything was possible, and anything could happen, not forgetting the deep value of time out from city and routine being important. I've learnt one very important lesson on this rock.  You adapt or you're lost. It's a place where people get close quickly, bound together by friendship, experience, fear and loneliness. Time is compressed, relationships move fast, and normal patterns of waiting before you talk intimately are dismissed. I know in my heart none of us ever completely leaves, and from a  personal perspective I am not sure when I will be back. My sense of respect for my students themselves has grown through my time at Siam Healing Centre and that could not have been more evident this stay. You are all amazing and you continue to inspire me with your stories of achievement through yoga and your life off the mat. So, until we meet again, thank you to so many of you for the journey on a well travelled path. I will always be forever grateful that you also chose a crazy little island in Thailand to call home. ♡

A me spesso vengono attacchi di fame da noia/stanchezza o voglia di sgranocchiare qualcosa di buono 🙄 Prima divoravo le peggiori cose delle macchinette! (sì, è successo anche questo!) Poi finalmente ho smesso e ho trovato un’alternativa sana ma soprattutto buonissima con @foodspring_it ❤️ I Nuts& Berries mi danno soddisfazione! Sono noci e bacche, che insieme stanno benissimo, e danno sempre la giusta energia per allenarsi dopo il lavoro 💪🏼

Yesterday we started our new yoga club at Bosvigo for the KS2 yogis! От уровня готовности и мастерства выполняемых поз – будет определяться как время тренировки по силовой йоге, так и отбираемые для неё асаны. 
Различаться может и диапазон времени фиксации асан. На уровне, когда вы уже находитесь в постоянном тренировочном режиме – интервал фиксаций становится более длительным. 
Кроме того, силовую нагрузку можно повышать как через увеличение выдержки асаны, так и через усложнение и намеренный отбор более сложных поз.

Natarajasana is a standing asana that requires balance and concentration.

Natarajasana improves balance and focus. It strengthens the legs, hips, ankles, and chest, and helps one develop grace. It also promotes inner stillness and consciousness of the world changing all around.
Traditionally, nataraja is the king, or lord, of the dance, which is the cosmic dance of creation, preservation and dissolution. Named after him, natarajasana teaches one to recognize contrasts. On one hand, one is aware of the dance of life, with all its rhythms, cycles, challenges and rewards; but, behind all of this, there is absolute stillness. This pose helps the practitioner to be able to witness all of these movements and changes, but remain changeless. In other words, to be still while dancing and to dance while being still.

Slow is the new strong and patience is the new progress. .

Learning to enjoy my journey on the mat instead of questing after the next pose has been a challenging but all together gratifying experience. .
.

Letting go of the competitive sports mentality from my youth and simply trying to enjoy the practice for what it is - Movement that brings me joy and just happens to make me stronger in the process. .
.

Jumping or floating back once felt utterly impossible to me. I threw myself at it relentlessly, frustrated that I couldn’t make my body do what I wanted. .
.

It wasn’t until I stepped back from this “goal” and simply focused on moving with intention and attention that the pieces started to fall together. .
.

Not right away, and I think that’s important to note. There are hours and days and months and years of hard work leading up to this demonstrated transition. .

And no, it wasn’t the desire for the end pose that led me to this deceptively difficult float. I truly believe that I had to pull back, release this tangible goal, and in that letting go, I created the space that was needed to grow my practice as a whole, in much more than the physical sense. .

It wasn’t until I realized I was no less of a yogi nor a person if I never jumped back than my body graciously gave me what I no longer truly needed. . . . .

If I had given up when times got real rough, I wouldn't be where I am today. When everything around me was uncertain, I knew one thing for sure- when you hit rock bottom, the only way to go from there is up 🖕. For this reason, I modified the warrior a tad and called it 'HOPE'. Also these bright orange leggings are the best way to show the world that you aren't giving up👊 shopping link in bio. Niente come l'acqua rappresenta per me il movimento e il fluire naturale che tutto dovrebbe avere in natura.
L' assenza di attrito, di confini, la possibilità di cambiare consistenza.

Il suo essere fonte di vita. Essenziale allo sviluppo di ogni sua forma.

Si, vorrei essere acqua.

L' #acqua  è senza dubbio il mio elemento. Riesce a pacificare i miei sensi come poco altro. Mare, oceano, lago, fiume...Datemi uno specchio d'acqua e il mio animo si quietera'. Amo contemplare l'acqua, ma ancor più immergermi e sentire il mio corpo perdere i suoi confini, la sua forma e il suo peso. Esistono poche altre sensazioni che io ami di più. Non smettere mai di guardare lontano.
Ciò che oggi dai per scontato, un tempo ti sembrava irraggiungibile.

Così quel che ora ti può apparire solo un miraggio, un giorno di questi potrebbe diventare l'oasi in cui riposare.

Purché non ti fermi.

Nulla che sia vivo in #Natura lo è.

L' uomo è malato di assuefazione.
Si abitua a tutto. Si adagia e si dimentica di ciò che ha. Di quel che ha realizzato.

Con le conquiste del progresso e di una maggiore sicurezza ha perso l'istinto primario alla caccia, alla conquista, alla sopravvivenza.

Regala al tempo la sua infinita volontà.

Non lasciare che sia così.

Cerca la fine dell'#orizzonte con sguardo avido e sempre curioso.
