🙏❤️📿 Day 1️⃣1️⃣ of #ForTheLoveOfYoga with @cyogalab 🔀 #Astavakrasana variant📿❤️🙏
We’ve done this pose before in other challenges. Probably, the face expression had a lot to do with its success so, feel free to stick your tongue out like that once you’re in it :P. If you can sit and rest one leg onto its arm, cross them at the ankles, press the palms down and lift the butt, then you’re in good shape for this variant. Most people find this harder than Astavakra (me too!), because, when you intertwine the legs, they feel a lighter and, if you squeeze the arm tightly, your hips will be off the ground without much effort. In this one, each leg needs to work INDIVIDUALLY to hold onto the arm and to help you lift. On the plus side, it’s a great core/upper body strengthener so, let’s try it, see what happens: after some warm up (wrists and hips specially), sit down, rest one leg high onto its arm, extend it, then use that leg activation to give you a first push, press the hands on the ground strongly, pull the navel in and continue to bend the elbows towards a 90 degree angle, chest leaning forward, face coming close to the floor (place a nice crash pad right there if needed!). Wrap tightly the bottom one around the opposite forearm, like you were straining a cloth, point the toes to feel a stronger leg engagement (extra points if the lower leg aims diagonally up!). Keep ‘hugging’ the elbows into the side ribs to preserve your energy, instead of ‘leaking’ it. Look over to the side where all the action is happening, and you just have to stick the tongue out to replicate this!!! Don't worry if it still eludes you, wait up for tomorrow’s idea and let’s get stronger in the process…. keep at it, don't get too serious and have a good time!! || NEXT STEPS || If you’ve got your lift to headstand feeling pretty solid, try this drill as a next step. Such a great exercise to strengthen the core and shoulders. I’m using these headstand zombie presses to help strengthen for handstand and forearm stand presses. You’ll need socks and a wooden floor. 👣 Slide the feet in as far as possible, getting the hips high over the shoulders and then take flight. If you’re still working on your headstand lift from the traditional position, work on lowering down slowly ever time you headstand. Progression doesn’t happen overnight, we have to dedicate time to the things we want to achieve. 👍🏼🧘🏼♀️

Get out of your head and in to your heart.
Today our head is totally filled up with so much information, and the brain is working on at least 10 thouths at the same time. And our body dose the same, Sometimes we wish we had a cuple of arms more. And the stress is vibrating inside of us.
Our bodies arent build for that.. and in the worst of case, the body gives up.
Its so important to take the time to relax.

I have had a weekend full of emotions ! I can’t quite believe we had our yoga assessment on Saturday, after a year of studying we did it!! Claire you’ve been the best, and we’ve been so lucky to have you as our teacher, so much time, love, commitment and knowledge and Keely I couldn’t have asked for a better person to have shared this journey with , we laughed, we’ve cried (normally through laughing so much) said I couldn’t do it 😂😂! But we did it and are official yoga teachers!! 🧘🏼♀️💃! And Iv made friends forever !! Thank you to my amazing boyfriend and family for making the celebrations so much fun and everyone who has supported me through this amazing journey ! Iv truly had the best (year) weekend and can’t wait to get teaching !
