“I’m not flexible enough to do yoga.”
“I need to lift weights to feel like I worked out.”
“So, do you just 'OM' all day?”.
Oh, the many misconceptions about yoga! Among the wild assumptions out there, here are the most common misunderstandings
1. Yoga is easy, gentle stretching.
There's a great deal of value in gentle yoga, but there are many styles and schools of yoga that are incredibly physically challenging. It takes strength, stamina, and flexibility. It can be anything from a sweaty cardio session to a physical therapy session. It can be meditative or it can act as a muscle strengthener. There's a class out there that will meet your needs–whether you're a dancer, triathlete, or tired grandma.
2. Yoga is just for _____ people.
You can fill in the blank. We've heard it all. "I'm not flexible enough. I'm not thin enough. I'm not young enough." Yoga accepts you wherever you are. There are no rules, no expectations, and no judgments. Anyone (and I mean ANYone!) can benefit from the practice of yoga as long as she or he is patient and approaches the practice with an open mind.
In the world today for many of us its harder and harder to quieten the busy mind and listen to your soul.
You know when its there speaking to you in a way thats powerful and wise .
Trust yourself and listen for that feeling or sense of when your soul is speaking to you.
• 21.10.17 • Smile ✨ • The concentration on my face here is great because I was working really hard to hold my crow pose for longer than usual, but it also made me think how much nicer it would look if I was smiling 😊 “It takes less muscles to smile than to frown” don’t you know? 😉😅 •

We saved nestling from the cat, raised it and set free. She went back for 5 months a day to eat 3* a day, a couple of days ago didn"t come back, we thought she had a trouble, but since then it has appeared again and only very rarely comed. One of my eyes is crying the other smiling because I'm glad she get away to the nature. Things that can"t be bought for money are really the greatest treasures. During this few months this soul gave a lot of pleasure and smile for us.
#bird#nestling#free#happy#dogoodthings#lifeisgood#nature#yogalove#sweethome#proud#saveanimals
x Saturday is one of my favourite days .... not only is it the start of my weekend, it is also a morning till early afternoon spent teaching gorgeous Mamas to be prenatal yoga.
There are so many incredible benefits of practicing prenatal yoga - one which I always encourage Mums to be of is to connect with other Mums and build a sense of community.
Many of my Mums have become friends through prenatal classes some have then joined my Mum & Baby classes - strength in numbers. It is always wonderful to be surrounded by others who undertstand the beautiful yet sometimes immensely overwhelming journey into motherhood.
If you are pregnant & would like to experience the many benefits prenatal yoga can offer you & your baby drop me an email: firstname.lastname@example.org or add me on Facebook: nattieyoga. No experience needed!

Teaching 2 community classes today. I think these are my favourite type of classes to teach. Yoga can be an expensive ‘hobby’ to have, especially here so its so nice to be able to teach just for the love of it 💚 .

Starting off this new moon cycle by setting the intention of gratitude. 🖤 It's so hard to feel down if you are aware of all of the things you have to be grateful for! A cup of yummy tea, a cozy bed, the breeze and sun! All these little pleasures we take for granted that make life so beautiful! Take a moment everyday to think of something you are grateful for. Whenever I do, my day always becomes so magical 🖤🤸🏾♀️📿 #gratitude#itsthelittlethings
It's #saturday 🎊🎉🎊🎉

This is such a fun pose to challenge your balance!!!! It’s pose 85 as I keep #movingthroughtheasanas using BKS Iyengar’s Light on Yoga as my guide. This is #goraksasana Goraksa = cowherd so not sure how that one is related to the pose except for maybe the thump you make everytime you fall on your butt 😂. He rates this one a 10. He actually states that “It is a difficult balancing pose and one feels elated even if one can only balance for a second” so so true!! In the last part of the video I got a 4 sec hold!!! When you see my elbows move up a bit I was actually surprised by how balanced I felt. Then as I’ve been told before “the minute the mind thinks “I got this” on any balancing pose is when you loose it”. Boy is it!! You’ll see I lost my focus and bust my butt soon after. I did this many many times for the fun of it. Watching the videos I noticed every time I start to fall my eyes close I smile, laugh and enjoy the ride. I love the fall. It got me thinking 🤔. If only we could get to a place where when we fall in life we could do it so joyfully. Throw our hands out and just enjoy the ride down. Knowing we learned something and can always get right back up and try again. This time taking with us everything we just learned and adding to it. Thankfully that’s the amazing thing with Yoga it takes simple things like this and gives us reminders to help us later on. So one day when we are struggling (kicking, screaming, and holding onto things that don’t suit us)it goes off like a💡reminding us to just let go. Embrace the life we have. Lay back with no worry or fear, throw your hands out and enjoy the fall. Trusting that no matter what happens we will be ok.
That’s all I got for this one. If you want to check it out in the book it’s on page 142 as pose 54.
