i tried to use yoga this week like a quick fix, the same way you might open a bottle of wine at the end of a bad day. it’s so easy to label one thing as good and another as a problem, instead of understanding that nearly everything can be a method of avoidance. i practiced mindlessly, i didn’t feel like doing the inside work, and then i wondered why i didn’t feel different at the end. yoga isn’t magic. it’s not even the answer. sometimes, if you’re lucky, it’s a new pair of glasses, helping you to see right where you might go. ✨

I haven’t been posting as many flows or yoga videos and it’s been a really needed and authentic way for me to be in my practice- no phone, no watch, no “stuff”- nothing except me and my mat and and my sweat and my breath and movement.
I work on my phone every day so taking breaks is so so so needed. My mantra lately is savoring each moment in real time. Spending less time on my phone, taking more baths, reading more books, and taking longer walks to see all the fall leaves without my little device at my side. I love social media platforms but honestly real life can be so damn good. Don’t let yourself miss out on it. And all that about being said, here’s a video of me doing a handstand. 😂 #balance right?! ❤️ ❤️❤️
Poem I wrote last week. “I lie in bed and watch the moon sink down on one end of the window. I know that if there were another window on the other side, I’d see the sun rising too. What a beautiful way to feel the earth change day by day by actually seeing it evolve in your presence. I’m no scientist nor any astrologist, but I know that somewhere at that exact moment when the sun and moon were passing each other, some one just so happened to let love pass them by. Just like I know that when the stars are aligned just perfectly someone falls in love. It’s not every day we listen to nature. It’s not every day we think to relate. Yet, I know that every day there is something to relate to. Then, I find you. I mean me, her, we. I find us.”

Bringing some balance into my life with some #forearmfriday#pinchamayurasana play. I've used to struggle with this pose, but be still and breathe. On the outside it looked fine but I was struggling inside, holding my breath, tense in every wrong way. Now I use it as a test of my focus, my patience, my ability to stay present. Can't stop flying, on and off the mat. Flying back to San Francisco because a month away was just too long 😉 Traveling warms my heart, whether it's going back to my past comfort zones to seeing loved ones or experiencing new places and gaining new perspectives. Either way, I fully appreciate the time that I have from point to point, reflecting on all that I have and taking the time to appreciate all that has led me to this moment.
