Ouch! That hits some truth chords pretty hard eh? Anger is such a useful emotion if it's directed into movement, art, music, poetry etc. .
As human as we are it's often projected at the people closest to us as we expect others to live up to our standards and ideals. .
Internally, anger closes doors, not allowing our energy to flow; it takes our power away. Find a practice to channel your fears, anger & 'supposed' tos into. If we allow it to consume us, we will be consumed. .

No Problem!! We have the right program for you.. The Scuba Review program is just the refresher you need to brush up on your knowledge and skills. While having fun we are going to help you feel comfortable in the water again. Step by step will have you practice putting your gear together and doing a predive safety check with your buddy. How do you get good ideas for new content?
One of the most effective techniques I have found for coming up with new content ideas - for blogs, videos or SM posts and ofcourse our retreat- is meditating.
Meditating quietens my chatty, overthinking, doubting, comparing and strategizing mind and opens space for more original and creative ideas.
Don't get me wrong. There is definitely an important place for researching content topics and coming up with strategies to engage and interest your audience.
But in any business that is driven from a deeper place - of wanting to serve, to share a passion or really help others - there is also a role for deeply inspired content.
So, if you're stuck for content ideas or overwhelmed with too many ideas at once, go to your favourite place to meditate and get still with yourself.
You'll find that when you're not forcing them, new ideas float to the surface. You might want to have a notebook and pen nearby to write down your ideas when you stop meditating!
I am also happy to hang back and relax in a beanbag on the beach making notes.. P.S. The photo of my Zen master bf is one of my favourite places to meditate and get creative ;-)

J is for Janusirsasana!
One of the earliest references to the posture we today call Janusirsasana appeared in 13th century as a method to preserve and raise one's life essence. It is Mahamudra, the "great seal" executed by placing "the heel of his left foot at the perineum... placing chin to chest (and) filling up with air. Using breath-retention (kumbhaka)...". Translation:
Janusirsasana or head to knee posture is essentially the same as the Mahamudra decsribed above but without breath retention
A variation is coming over the straight leg with a flat back and folding forward from the pelvis rather than rounding the back. Practiced regularly it can strengthen the back muscles during pregnancy (up to second trimester), done without coming forward, keeping your back spine concave and front torso long.
Looking inwards, calms the brain, rounding the back stretches the spine, shoulders, potentially the hamstrings, and hip flexors, while stimulating the liver and kidneys and helping to improve digestion. The compression at the core may help to relieve menstrual discomfort.
This version we are showing here, stretches the middle back. You need to bring your hairline to your knee with the extended leg as bent as it needs to be to allow this to happen. It is not so much a hamstring stretch but a back stretch. The focus is on drawing the energy inwards Samana pran (the energy of transformation) and inviting downward energy, apana energy to help us guide the elimination of physical wastes, but also mental and emotional waste—that which no longer serves us.
I is for Indudalasana!
Legend: In hatha yoga, the sun and the moon represent the two polar energies of the universe. The word hatha itself is often divided into its two constituent syllables, esoterically interpreted as signifying the solar and lunar energies. Practicing Indudalasana helps to balance the mind as much as the body.
Translation: This asana is so named because it resembles it's namesake, Indudala meaning crescent moon. Some practitioners call this pose Ardha Chandrasana or Urdvha Hastasana (half moon pose or raised hands pose). Modifications: To add an extra challenge try lifting one leg. It's important to keep the sternum in towards the back of the body to avoid collapsing in the lower back and core. The hips ought to be parallel to each other.
Benefits: This asana performed correctly has numerous benefits energetically and physically since it balances the lower chakras in the body responsible for grounding (muladhara), creativity and sexuality (svadhisthana) and self esteem (manipura) while if the shoulders and chest are relaxed then the heart (anahata) and throat (vishuddha) chakras can come into balance as well. A very uplifting pose, Indudalasana helps us to take life less seriously!
Focus: Stretch the whole of your side body in an integrated curve rather than coming down to the side. Your focal point can be to look up under your arm at the sky.

#myparadigm - "For many years I have felt a personal pull towards Haiti. Something at the back of my heart drawing me there to learn more about its history, it's culture, rooted in its resiliency. Yoga is rooted in connection. The connection to ourselves, others, the universe, all things. Acknowledgement of this connection, rather than differences, is a large step to a more humane world, if we only take it. To have the opportunity to finally travel to Haiti, to learn and grow there, to inspire others to see it as a people and people they are connected to, that is an overwhelming honor.
