Here's to finding our Selves in whatever it is we might🙏
This first photo shows how tight my outer hips are. A posture I've been giving a lot of time and attention to is the 🔥 firelog pose 🔥I give it at least 15 minutes a day...sometimes more..but this posture is very intense for me. Yin Yoga has brought to the forefront of my awareness just how tight my hips are..so for this I'm grateful..but the releasing, that's definitely been a painstaking commitment.
Also, my #lymedisease has improved quite a bit...so little by slowly I'm regaining my health.☝🙏
Peace and BE Well🌱
TAT 💘 ART
I miss you
Some days I can hold handstands for what seems like forever. Some days I can’t even stand on my forearms. Some days my backbends are so deep, I can touch my toes to my head in scorpion. Other days, my back’s just not havin’ it. Sometimes I can do the splits and sit all the way down and relax. And sometimes I feel like I’m almost crying before my hips are even close to being open. 😰
This reminds me that there is always an ebb and flow. It’s like that in yoga practice, to remind you that it’s like that in LIFE. In terms of yoga, those different areas feel different day to day, because we tend hold stress and blockages in different parts of our bodies, and because our moods and stress factors change day to day, so does the ‘where and how’ your body is affected.
My yoga practice simply allows me to “notice” where and how my body is affected. So when I’m doing a flow that normally feels nice and natural and something feels strange? Instead of stopping because it’s uncomfortable? I go deeper. I pay extra attention there. Give more focus and energy to open up that block. And 100% of the time I feel SO much better after doing so. Yeah, the ebbs and flows of life for sure affect my body and mind. No one is immune to that. But thankfully my yoga practice helps me to recognize the affects, and work through them in a healthy and magical way. 🙏
Thank you, yoga. For showing me how to dig deeper, show up fully, and always come out a better version than the last. ❤️✨
Do you lie awake at bedtime with thoughts running rampant in your mind? If you’re busy or stressed, then your mind is likely to be on overdrive much of the time. Then when you lie down in bed at the end of the day, your racing mind is still on autopilot, chattering away to itself, thinking of anything and everything it possibly can.
1. Write down your thoughts —
There are a number of ways that you can document your thoughts and get them out of your head so that they don’t bounce around up there keeping you awake all night.
2. Visualize —
If you’re bombarded with thoughts as soon as you hop into bed, a simple visualization can help calm your mind. Imagine that next to your bed is a big basket, and every time a thought pops up and tries to hook you in, imagine that thought floating out of your mind and into the basket.
3. Meditate —
Regular meditation has a multitude of benefits, including improved sleep and a calmer mind. Meditate daily to reduce your predisposition to having a racing mind, or meditate by focusing on your breathing when you hop into bed to relax your mind and body, ready for sleep.
4. Do all of your thinking before you get into bed —
If you’re notorious for busying yourself or indulging in screen-time right up until bedtime, then maybe your mind comes alive as you hop into bed, going over the day and planning for tomorrow. This can become an unhelpful habit that interferes with your ability to get to sleep on time. Try switching off your devices and creating some quiet time prior to bed to set your mind free and get your thinking done. Once you’ve finished, you can go to bed with an empty mind and sleep soundly every night. ----------------------------------------------------- #yogatips#yoga101#followthispage#yoga#yogagram#yogi#yogastudent#yogateacher#yogacommunity#yogastudio#instayoga#instagood#instadaily#yogainspiration#positiveenergy#followus#followers#followthepack#_wolfpackyoga#wpy
New moon. Are you feeling like your heart and mind are not listening to each other. We need both our heart and mind to operate in this world as each holds its own unique intelligence and wisdom. However, many of us get so caught up in our thoughts and mental processes that we forget about the intuitive, softer guidance that our heart can also bring.
Under the influence of this Libra New Moon it is going to be really important to find this balance and to learn how to open up to the wisdom of your heart and mind. WWW.foreverconscious.com #newmoon#libra#October#yogi#yoga#moon

People say that coming from a divorced family creates trauma for their own future relationship.
What do you believe?
I'll share with you a part of my journey, The first several years of my life were bliss, my parents were in love.
Then the years of arguing began and I remember as a little girl thinking, 'Why do people express themselves this way?' while trying to hold my ears from the noise.
I also tried to help them as a little girl. I would say, 'mom I think dad is trying to say...' or 'dad, moms feelings are just hurt, she didn't mean that.' Even as a young girl, I could see where people were not interacting with their partner, they were interacting with their own fears and resentments (when not previously healed). But I'll fast forward, although I consciously believed that relationships did not have to be chaotic, I seemed to still participate in relationships that way.
I played into the arguing and yelling and even jealousy I saw with my parents.
How could this be? my subconscious was more powerful that my conscious mind at the time.
So years went by of dramatic relationships, over and over.
Fast forwarding again, I started personal development. I saw all the subconscious decisions that were running the show for me, I had to acknowledge my feelings as a little girl (still doing this now) and I had to choose a new paradigm of what relationships can be like.
As a little girl I belived relationships could be miraculous (not just ordinary, but miraculous) and now, I'm amazed to see that I get to hold space for couples designing the relationship they TRULY desire, not run by their subconscious patterns. So, would you say a child of divorce is destined for trauma in their future?
Much love, Jocelyn

💙🛋💫Day 1️⃣9️⃣ of #SofaYoga 💫🛋💙#Scorpion in #ForearmBalance or #VrschikasanaI ➡️ This is a fantastic use of our beloved sofa! Give it a try and see what happens but, before you start to do so, keep in mind a few things:
1️⃣finding the right distance elbows-sofa might take a few tries, don’t get discouraged as that’s essential to succeed. You need to be able to feel the ribs ‘resting’ on the edge of the sofa once the legs start to go overhead.
2️⃣ never mind how close the feet get to your head, just worry on maintaining the contact with the sofa at ALL TIMES!! The moment you’ll peel off, it’s very likely you’ll flip over (at that point, let nature takes its course and drop on your feet into a Viparita #backbend ).
I also like this version very much because it teaches us how much we need to sink the chest and how much we can counterbalance with it the weight of the legs going over. The longer you stay doing that, the more likely you’ll feet will touch the head. Mantra for today: keep the contact ribs-sofa, keep the contact, keep the contact,… repeat that to yourself every second you’re in it and look out slowly, rising the gaze gradually towards a point straight ahead. For those just wanting to balance in a semi-version of Scorpion, it also works wonders because you’ll need a super small jump (better yet, try to project one leg up and find yourself in Pincha!) then, maintaining the ribcage-sofa contact, activate the legs and send them wherever you still have balance and control. Watch out for long breaths because those might push you ‘off’ the sofa, like a hot air balloon going up… not that it happened to me of course….

Insane days, maybe even weeks well I’ve got a little #wednesdayworkshop action for you this #winditdownasanawednesday
When you've had no time for you, your workout, can't find your weights, dogs barking, kids coming home, and almost happy hour, — what do you do? You improvise.
How to come into this pose: 1. Chair (Utkatasana) - Start in Mountain Pose (Tadasana) feet parallel and hip width apart, then sit back into heels. 2. Lengthen tailbone to floor and draw belly towards spine, softening shoulders. Hold for a few breaths 3. Then adding on to a variation to chair pose I call Skier pose - squat a little lower and take belly more over the quads, allowing sit bones to shoot back versus towards the floor. 4. Continue to draw belly and lower ribs towards the spine to protect lower back. 5. Grab some wine bottles and draw arms up squeezing in between shoulder blades to work back and strength rhomboids. 6. Add on again by extending arms back for triceps kickbacks. Squeeze triceps when extending.
Benefits: 1. Multiple functional exercise for mind and body. 2. Strengthens quads, glutes, upper back, and triceps. 3. Time saver. 3. If you wait until after 5pm you can enjoy a much needed glass of wine right after you do your reps distressing from your day.
This is efficiency at its finest and a little yogi humor to boot. Your welcome. 😆

Our Greece yogis got to hike around the island today! The hike was full of beautiful views and inspiring experiences, including when they got lessons on extracting oils from plants and shared tea with an herbalist who has spent his life studying the thousands of herbs on the island. Thanks to @danceblu for bringing these amazing yogis to Greece with us! And a big thank you to @shenanigansbyshannon for these fantastic photos. #truenature#truetravel#greece#herbalmedicine#amorgos#hiking
“you never change, yet you change everything.” •
The past two weeks of my life have been a whirlwind which is probably why this page has been a bit quiet, and my last update on life was weeks ago.
I’m overwhelmed by brokenness in this world. Quite frankly, I’m overwhelmed by this world. But, true revival and redemptive healing is happening (slowly, but surely…invisible and far off some days, but real and present). There are days when this seems like the farthest thing from the truth and that there is just no light at the end of the tunnel, but this present darkness will not last. •
So my heart will ache, my body will be tired, my mind will race. but my soul will not be crushed and He will give rest to the weary because Jesus is the true & better everything.

Happy Deepavali to all from me. May we dance our way through life to the melody of our Lord's grace. May we also keep one foot firmly planted and rooted in our being, and one on toe to remind us of our divine nature, may we bask in the light of supreme consciousness and be the embodiment of love, truth and compassion. May we see ourselves in all others, and for all the artists out there, may we continue to create and play within our Lords Leela which brings about supreme joy to others around us. This Diwali, may we have the strength to light the fire within us which burns the ego and ignorance. May we not define ourselves by materialism or the people around us. Instead may we become true seekers who are ever focused on their path to perfection. Jai Siya Ram .
Day 11 of #theyinyangyogis is Handstand - Adho Mukha Vrksasana 🙏🏽
I’m no where close to mastering a handstand but I’m okay with that. I have to respect my body and do what I can. It’ll come in time but with my jaw flare ups I have to be careful with how often and how many I do a day. It’ll happen when the time is right. 🕉
