I tried to find a cute quote about dogs and nothing really seemed right, so I will just tell you about this guy. This is Jax. He is almost 6 years old and was my first baby. See right before we got him I had a miscarriage and I was heart broken. I had been told for years I would never have kids and my body was doing what the doctors said would happen if I did get pregnant. I felt like I was so much less of a woman for something that was not in my control at all. So my then fiance and I went to the shelter and found Jax. He was 10 weeks old and so small. We were told he would only get to about 30 lbs. He was the best lap dog that made me feel so much better, but he quickly got to 30 lbs and ended up about 60 to 70 lbs! He still to this day things he is about 10 lbs and will do everything he can to get in your lap. He is my baby and I'm so glad I have him even when he drives me crazy.

I think I missed last week so I wanted to jump back in 🙃
This transformation is from a couple years back, but I wanted to depict what can happen from the first backbend of your practice towards the end.
The top picture was at the beginning of the shoot, I had taken class but probably a few hours before.
The second photo was towards the end of the shoot after a bunch of dropbacks, standing bows, camels, etc.
Lately I've been experiencing a lot more stiffness in the body (so my starting place is much more conservative), but I still get to observe this change throughout a practice.
If you're feeling constrained right now, you don't have to feel this way forever. Do the work, move slowly and mindfully and see what happens.
And if you have days where you still feel blocked (trust me, it happens 😅), then trust that you unblocked something in the mind or spirit instead 🌱
