Hello, my name is T Y R E I S. I was raised in the West Las Vegas Potter's House Church all my life. However, this doesn't mean I've been a Christian all my life; seven years ago, I became heavily addicted to video games. You may say to yourself, "Video games aren't a sin". Well, you're right; they aren't a sin in themselves, but they become one when you idolize them and put them before things of God. In my case, I would play (or a better way to put it, "worship") video games from sun up to sundown if time allowed me to do so. It wasn't until last summer at a Christian boot camp when I truly dedicated my life to Christ. At this boot camp, I heard testimonies of teenagers who've had abusive parents, contemplated suicide, been bullied, and the list goes on. Hearing these testimonies made me realize something that ultimately played a crucial role in my salvation: how many souls were lost and searching for a way out of their sin while I was sitting down in a chair playing worthless games? Since that boot camp, I've changed priorities; I've decided to put God first and limit my time playing video games. I've also found joy in spending time on things that I can use to reach this generation, such as playing piano, singing, and acting. God is good!
