The path of finding yourself is neither easy or simple and definitely has no shortcuts. It's a long, messy and laborious road. It demands acceptance and renounce. It's having the courage to get #free from the shackles you've created yourself, abandoning what doesn't serve you and many times can mean traveling great distances without even moving... The path is not ready for you, but tread in every step you take. And will take you where no one will go because you alone hold the key to the door inside. It's accepting that even if it's winding, rocky and forked, the view is astounding... and it's realizing along the way that YOU are the path itself ♥️ #theuniverseinside#unwritten#freeyourmind#freespirit#laventurecommence
●• What does it mean • First, understand who you and what you stand for • This requires self knowledge, and self examination • To know what makes you tick, know what brings you into and out of balance • It's about not bowing to peer pressure, not doing something you know you won't feel good about • It's about tapping into your gut instinct about what is good for you, and what is not • For instance, I know I can't do small talk for too long, so standing around in pubs and bars talking shite? Nope • This NY I'm heading to a forest beach with total strangers because my nature is to explore, be in wild nature and to be alone from time to time • What can you do to bring balance and live in accordance with your nature? •● (This pic is Annapurna base camp from a trek I did in 2012. So stunning)
I’ve had a great day with @danicallross and @matthewpriceartist exploring Eastville and Stoke parks. We’ve seen a cornucopia of wildlife today. The highlight was watching Kingfishers hunting. Which I didn’t capture because I’m an idiot who gets hangry 🤦🏻♂️ but I did get this lovely shot of a Robin pretending to be a Christmas decoration. See Dani’s profile for his fantastic photo of one of the Kingfishers 👌
Huge thanks to @richimal_bristol for a wonderful takeover this weekend. A fantastic series of images showing the beauty of the landscapes and wildlife in our region - from pollinating insects to birds spending their winter here What a treat - thank you.
This Rowan tree is also known as a Mountain Ash although the species are not related. It’s covered with berries which are a rich food source through the winter for birds including blackbirds, mistle thrush and redwing.
Evening, @richimal_bristol here for the last time this weekend. I hope you enjoyed my autumnal look at nature near Bristol.
If you can help Avon Wildlife Trust protect individual species, the wild places they call their homes and inspire people to take action for nature, please visit the #NatureNow appeal crowdfunder page - the link is in the @avonwt profile.
Thank you for having me, see you again soon 👋
Evening, @richimal_bristol here with my weekend takeover of @avonwt. I visited the lovely Folly Farm earlier, and there are plenty of teasels about. During the summer they provide welcome nectar for pollinators, and the dried seed head is an important winter food resource for birds, notably beautiful Goldfinches.
Hi, it's @richimal_bristol here continuing my @avonwt takeover. Today I visited Chew Valley Lake, an important area for wildfowl, managed by Avon Wildlife Trust in partnership with Bristol Water.
Here’s a Tufted Duck. It’s one of the birds that breed here, which also include Great Crested and Little Grebes, Pochards and Gadwalls.
Morning! I'm @richimal_bristol and I'm looking after @avonwt this weekend as part of the #NatureNow appeal.
Later I’m visiting the beautiful Chew Valley Lake, an important habitat for wildfowl. Visit and see if you can spot a shoveler, tufted duck or great crested grebe 🦆
Last weekend I was lucky to see a stunning rainbow over the lake 😍🌈
Hi, @richimal_bristol back for the last time tonight. I’m looking forward to visiting some Avon Wildlife Trust sites to the south of Bristol tomorrow. This photograph is a clue! I’ll reveal all tomorrow. See you in the morning 👋
Hi, it's @richimal_bristol here again continuing my @avonwt takeover. This morning I visited Bennett’s Patch and White’s Paddock nature reserve in Bristol and I’m now sheltering from the rain before my next stop. See my story for more.
This morning I posted a photograph of a bumblebee feeding from Ivy nectar. You can see lots of flowering Ivy near the Clifton Suspension Bridge. If you’re visiting, see how many species of bumblebee you can spot!
Good morning, @richimal_bristol here looking after Avon Wildlife Trust's Instagram for the weekend. Today I'm visiting places around Bristol to see urban nature and how Avon Wildlife Trust is helping to protect it. Keep an eye on my stories here for more!
Ivy flowers at this time of year, and it’s an important source of nectar and pollen for bumblebees. I spotted this bumblebee feeding from Ivy nectar in Clifton 🐝
Morning 👋 hopefully you will have seen from my recent posts and stories that I’m looking after Avon Wildlife Trust's Instagram this weekend. Please follow @avonwt to see what I get up to, and a few wildlife shots from my archives too. Have a lovely Saturday 🙂
Evening, @richimal_bristol here with my weekend takeover of @avonwt. I’m particularly fond of our feathered friends, and over the weekend I’ll be hoping to spot various species at local Avon Wildlife Trust reserves. Perhaps like this Jackdaw.
The #naturenow appeal is about helping us to inspire children to love wildlife. A great way to get started is by placing various types of bird feeders in your garden and see what species you can attract.
That’s all from me today, but I’ll be back tomorrow and out exploring!
Hello 👋 I’m @richimal_bristol and I’m taking over @avonwt this weekend to mark the start of the #naturenow appeal. We’re encouraging everyone to help us protect wildlife and inspire children to get to know the natural world around them.
Over the weekend I’ll be out and about exploring some of Avon Wildlife Trust’s nature reserves. Please follow my stories here from tomorrow to see my autumnal adventures 🍂
Back later with more!
