Recipe as posted on thisrawsomeveganlife.com: [ makes 3 chocolate bars ] ⠀
1/3 cup coconut oil ⠀
2/3 cup cacao powder⠀
1 teaspoon vanilla extract⠀
Pinch sea salt⠀
1/4 cup finely ground coconut sugar⠀
1 tablespoon maple syrup⠀
1/3 cup dried cranberries⠀
1/2 cup trail mix ⠀
1 tablespoon superfood mix (like raw cacao, lucuma, mesquite, maca, reishi and cinnamon)⠀
In a small, heavy-bottomed pot, melt the coconut oil and whisk in the cacao, vanilla, salt, sweeteners and superfood mix until smooth and delicious. (If it's too thick, add a lil more coconut oil, or throw the mixture into a blender and add a lil almond milk.) Stir in the cranberries. Pour into chocolate molds or onto a plate lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle on the trail mix and put the chocolate in the freezer for at least 20 minutes or until it hardens. Keep in the fridge. Enjoy! 😘⠀

Papaya & Hemp Smoothie Bowl on a lazy Sunday 💛🍈🍧 ⠀⠀
Hemp seeds from @hempfoodsaustralia are one of the most nutritious foods in the world. These tiny seeds are completely safe for human consumption, and are an excellent source of vegan protein as they are one of the few plant-based complete proteins. 💪⠀⠀
They are also packed full of essential fatty acids, vitamins and are relatively absent of sugars. There are no known allergies to hemp seeds and they are mostly well tolerated by those unable to tolerate nuts, gluten, lactose or sugar. Deliciously sweet and with its soft, butter-like consistency, the papaya fruit contains papain, an enzyme that helps digest proteins. Papain is actually extracted to make digestive enzyme dietary supplements. 💩⠀⠀
The combination of these two superfoods makes for a delicious, creamy and smooth smoothie that will leave you feeling satisfied for hours. The cinnamon adds a beautiful spice and has been used in Indian medicine for centuries to treat digestive issues. 💜⠀⠀

Time taken: 5 minutes ⠀⠀
Nourishing Ingredients 👇⠀
🌴 1 small papaya (frozen if you would prefer a thicker smoothie consistency) - roughly 2 cups⠀⠀
🌴 1 cup of plant-based milk⠀⠀
🌴 1 tbsp hemp seeds (if you can’t find these, you can use sesame) ⠀⠀
🌴 2 – 3 drops of organic vanilla essence⠀⠀
🌴 Pinch of cinnamon⠀⠀
🌴 Optional toppings: sliced banana, blueberries, and/or desiccated coconut ⠀⠀
To Create 👇 ⠀⠀
🌴 Simply blend all the ingredients in a high-speed blender until a thick yet smooth consistency is reached ⠀⠀

This #meatfreesaturday dish is a family favourite. Falafels are a great way to use any leftover beans and grains to create a delicious, high protein snack or meal. They are one of the few dishes that I use canned beans to make, as I just can't get my dried beans soggy enough to make them the consistency I like (#fussyeaterandnotevenashamed ) 😂👍.⠀⠀
The types of food processing that we have found have the most dramatic effect on FODMAP content of food is 'canning'. For example, for canned legumes (lentils and chickpeas) the water-soluble FODMAPs (GOS) 'leach out' of the legume into the brine mixture. Ensure that you discard the brine and wash the legumes before use.😷 ⠀⠀
Anywho back to these lentils ... they are SO versatile – enjoy them by themselves as snacks, or serve with this delicious minted coconut yoghurt dressing and a simple garden salad or steamed veggies to create a filling main meal. You can also experiment with different grains, beans (stick to well-soaked chickpeas or lentils), nuts, spices and herbs to create a range of flavours and textures. Keep these stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. My favourite part!!! Yay for lazy leftovers right?! 🙋⠀⠀
