Our drink feature tonight is “Smokey the pear”; a smokey pear whiskey sour with Buffalo Trace, pear cardamom syrup, smokey bitters, shaken with activated charcoal and finished with a sprinkle of pink peppercorns. 🍐💨 #oulala#thecoup#meetmeon17th#yycvegan#yycvegetarian
Come visit me at @thecoupcalgary tonight to try "Smokey The Pear" | a vegan smokey pear sour with Buffalo Trace whiskey, cardamom and pear syrup, activated charcoal and pink peppercorns!
Have you tried cauliflower rice? It's a delicious and super easy to make alternative to grains, good for vegan and gluten free diets. All you need to do is blend chopped cauliflower in a food processor or blender, and cook it in the microwave, oven or stove top. It has a nice flavour on its own but you can mix it with spices and use as a base in different bowls. 📷 @paleoglutenfreeeats
I have better photos of this coming, but I was excited and wanted to share it. This is a raw vegan chocolate banana cheesecake with raw vegan hand piped roses with some some edible rose buds on top. So in love with piping these realistic flowers. Fills my heart with the warm and fuzzies. Cheers! ⚘
Our @wholesomeculture order finally arrived! You know you’re dedicated to a brand when you drive to your PO box in Washington State for it! Check ‘em out and help them with their goal of spreading plant-based love ❤️🌱
Seriously in awe when it comes to this little vegetable. This is organic romanesca and boy is it amazing. Fractals on fractals, it's like a trip! So incredible to see these sacred, mathematical patterns not only in nature but right in the food we eat. Yes Mother Nature! 🌼⚘🌿 She does so good. Just been really genuinely happy lately and full of energy. Spread them good vibes. 💜💜💜0
Wrapping up a great tonight catching up over dinner at @yellowdooryyc with @lleesslliiee and @gouldgram with this thoughtful #vegan dessert. Carrot, nut and seed maple tart with quince sorbet. Beauty. 👌

So this was my #vegan lunch from Monday, as I was out @ appt ALL day, & then @tedxcalgary's event/talk that night on #veganism ..so had to eat before heading all the way to the far south of #Calgary for that..
So background on this yummy meal..(see the other pics for more details..)
I made Chana Dal for the first time end of last wk, & have been experimenting w/different recipes to make w/the "beans"..& this started out as soup..& then it ended up that I condensed it down it kinda a chili / vegan "sloppy joes" kinda looking mix.
With the spices, etc..I couldn't believe how much it looked like "hamburger" til I put it in tacos (added tomatoes, sauce & nutritional yeast..upside..it's NOT hamburger, so no animals died, & it's also SUPER way healthier, & has as much, or more protein..& less fat!
Like us, lots of people begin their vegan journey wondering how they will manage if they can never eat sushi again. Luckily @westcoastpoke in Vancouver has found a solution! The ahimi (vegan) tastes great and the texture is just like the real thing!
This week’s vegan tour of Alberta takes us to Edson. Edson doesn’t really have many specific vegan options, but there are a few places you can go. Legends Pizza has salads, sandwiches and subs without cheese and fries. Golden Honey is Chinese and western and they have nachos without cheese and sour cream, green onion cakes, fries and salad. They unfortunately don’t have a vegetable section on their menu. Donair Zone has falafel, salads, and a veggie pita. The Olive Tree is Greek and Italian and they have hummus and salads. The Funky Fork is a coffee and sandwich shop where the lunch specials change daily. You should be able to get a veggie sandwich or wrap. The Castle restaurant is Chinese and they have plain mixed veggies (make sure no oyster sauce). A Conjurer Vegan/Betwixt Donuts is sometimes at the Edson farmers market and they have donuts and some other baking. Coconut Tree is Thai/Chinese/Vietnamese and they should be able to veganize. There’s also a few vegan friendly chain restaurants/ @subway , @wokbox , @panago_pizza , @bostonpizzacanada , and @originaljoes . #yegvegetarian#yegvegan#yycvegan#yycvegetarian#albertavegan#albertavegetarian#edson#edsonvegan#edsonvegetarian#travelalberta#vegantravel
Feeling sexy and amazing wearing all faux fur💗 I am empowered and I am a game changer💥 Women all over are starting to realize the control that they can have over their own lives, and I could not be more proud to be part of that generation. Here's to all my ladies out there that are sexy, owning it, and over all kicking butt🥂🍾💕 @pawbrownphoto
Daisy’s Quilt Draw is on at @farrmanimalrescue . Help support the great work they do and you could win this beautiful quilt! #yegvegan#yegvegetarian#yycvegetarian#yycvegan#albertavegan#albertavegetarian Repost from @farrmanimalrescue using @RepostRegramApp - In September 2017, our blind goat Daisy was abducted. Her disappearance shook our community, and after many media reports and social networking sites shared her story countless times, Daisy's story became headline news. People came together from all over the world to help in our search and support us in any and every way they knew how.
The day after Daisy disappeared, a selfless FARRM Supporter, Kathryn C., felt devastated. To honour Daisy in the best way she knew how, she started making a quilt.
After Daisy was miraculously found safe and sound, Kathryn knew exactly what she wanted to do. Hundreds of donated hours later and after Daisy's incredible return, she offered the quilt to FARRM to assist in raising funds for the many vulnerable and special needs animals that live at the sanctuary.
From January 15 - 22, 2018, we will be accepting donations for our special needs animals!
Donors will be entered into a draw to win the grand prize FARRM quilt featuring Daisy the goat! Twenty runners up will be awarded the opportunity to name one of the twenty rescued chickens that have recently come into FARRM's care!
The first twelve donors will also receive a pair of tickets each to the Edmonton Renovation Show :D
The draw will take place live on January 20, 2018!
Make your donations here!

Had this wrap for lunch today, it was a pretty great last minute throw together! Put in a hickory smoked @the_tofurky_company vegan ham slices, sautéed some broccoli, red pepper and mushrooms in some herbs & sun dried tomato Himalayan salt. Sauce was some good ol @franksredhot with @followyourheart veganaise! Thinking about it is making me hungry again, but what else is new with me 😂😅 #veganeats#lunch
This simple little concoction packs a whole lot of flavour! 😋🥒🍅🥑
Cucumber, avocado and tomato - dressed with fresh lime juice and a drizzle of olive oil, plus some cilantro, salt & peppa! 👌
The Canadian Winter has us craving fresh Summer flavours, and this totally hit the spot! 👍👍

🐄🐄🐄 The next time you are consuming a cows’ milk, remember this: “The purpose of cow’s milk is to turn a 65-pound calf into a 700-pound cow as rapidly as possible. Cow’s milk IS baby calf growth fluid. No matter what you do to it, that is what the stuff is.” To read more, go to doctorklaper.com
"Begin" because sometimes we feel like all the answers must be in place before we start. Because sometimes we focus on everything instead of just one thing, one step. I've been reflecting on my entrepreneurial journey that began with a $95 investment and not overthinking the outcome...and guys, it's been the best time of my life! Just begin ❤️
We must always remind ourselves that although spreading those #veganvibes is crucial✌️The dream of a Cruelty Free world starts with our own individual decisions! That’s why we believe that “Cruelty Free Beauty is our Duty!” 🌱💚🐷🐮
Meditate. Take time to inhale peace and exhale fear. Then take your meditation back to your life. Walk slowly. Stay present for yourself, more fully and completely than ever before. You too can turn your life into a walking, waking, deliberate meditation. - Melody Beattie
