I've feared change for most of my life; now it's time to embrace it...
Nearly 3 years ago I decided to commit to grow my hair out. I always had it long when I was young, so I figured I'd try it again. Although I truly enjoy rocking the long-hair-don't-care, it was time for a change. I started growing it around the time both of my grandmas passed just a few days apart a little under 3 years back. I've rocked this look all the way through my dad's recent passing due to his grueling battle with cancer. Throughout those very difficult years, I slipped and fell so many times that I was to the point of never even attempting to pick myself up ever again. I fell deeper and deeper until I hit rock bottom. These were indeed the darkest years of my life. Over the last few weeks I've been making any and every change that I view as potentially positive. I know that changing the way my hair looks won't solve everything, but I do know it's most definitely a positive change in the right direction. In a way, those luscious locs I grew out were a constant reminder of the darkest, most difficult years of my life in which I refuse to ever go back to. It's time to change for the better and continuously push forward. No more slipping. No more darkness. LET'S GET IT! 🤘✊️🙌
Huge shoutout to my guy Abe! He's been a good friend of mine plus my trusted barber for 10+ years now and absolutely kills it every. single. time. Thank you, Zohan! (I would have tagged 5-Star Cuts but it's not listed on IG)
