This is a first, so here we go. I've always been big on flea markets and cannot remember not enjoying their atmosphere, mostly consisting of surprisingly personal talks with the absolute strangers on the other side of the market stalls, all while being flanked by (within their civil means) ruthless bargain hunters, every single one of them on their repsective prowl. Ever since I've been into photography, the way I navigate this chaotic realm has changed. Over time, I have adopted a good deal of able cameras, most of them in need for at least some kind of repairs (another hobby of mine, fortunately) but not a single one without hope. Anyway, it seems like I've been hoarding lucky coupons recently, because look what I ran into. Not only have I never seen any Konica Big Minis in person before (although they're neither rare, nor expensive beyond human belief [yet]), but also am I astonished with the striking condition this particular camera is in. Having belonged to somebody else's late grandpa, it certainly has been looked after meticulously. Ever since my Olympus Mju croaked about a month ago, I've been in severe need for a point-and-shoot camera. Thank you anonymous grandpa, your efforts won't be for naught!
Also, as so often, there still was a half-wound roll of film inside. Let's see if it'll yield any results ^^ #和風マット from #夢の島#壱岐 featuring a #konica#bigmini
A Kumamoto prefecture grandma proudly presenting her catch. According to season, cockroaches are a common but nonetheless much feared visitor. All the more impressive how this particular elderly lady, well into her seventies, jumped up and caught the swift invader with her bare hands, while all the four men in the room could do nothing but point and yell "gokiburi!" 男性４人はパニックで泣き叫びながら、勇気満々な熊本県のおばあさんが

Hello from the icy crypt! Long time no read everybody. As much as I'd love to bury you in shots over shots from my most recent Singapore and Japan trip with @whatdoesthatglancemean , @petergant , #junkunishimura and many more, it's not going to happen as of now! I bought a used negative scanner and the scanner broke. So, for now, we're both broke... On the sunny side of recent events, I was able to blow my last bucks on this pretty thing.
To the hopes of this becoming a darkroom account rather than an electrical appliances repair service.
First impressions of Okinawa ~ Aloha shirts are a Uniform, the Monorail is king, at some point beer was apparently sold from the pump (or somebody currently has a good sense of humor), and a relative of Higaonna Morio - at least in my eyes one of the greatest practitioners of Karate - randomly chats you up over over ice coffee. What.is.going.on.here? #okinawa#naha#monorail#gojuryu#karate#beer#waschdalos
