The first volume of Super Sons came out yesterday and it is just as delightful as you would expect it to be. Jon and Damien are a true treat to read as Superboy and Robin and the art is the cutest. You can read my review on the blog link in profile 💕
I just finished Empress of a Thousand Skies and I have to say I’m impressed. I loved the way the later half unfolded and enjoyed every character and how dynamic they were. So excited for the next book, I’m sure it’ll be an absolute delight to read.
Have you ever read a book and just felt an innate sense of magic cloak you? A Tale for the Time Being is a strangely lovely book, I don’t know how to quite put my finger on it but it lures me in with its effortless writing. Although it engages in some dark themes such as suicide and bullying, I’m so glad I picked it up.
Now that fall is well underway and halloween is approaching I thought I’d pick up a creepier book to get myself in the mood. I haven’t heard much about this but I do have a few trusted friends who adore this book so I’m excited 👻
Relaxing on a Friday with some comics and Starbucks 😎 I adore the Starbucks fall drinks and I'm so excited that it's fall again. As for books, I recently inhaled An Enchantment of Ravens and now I desperately need my own copy haha.
Warcross came out...two weeks ago? I'm terrible with dates at the moment other than deadlines, but if you haven't picked it up, it's usual brilliance from Marie Lu with an ending that makes me want to beg for the next one. Also pictured are limited edition Apple Pie Oreos, I hate golden Oreos but I will say the graham cracker cookie in this is almost worth grabbing over the original ones.
Do you have those books or series that you've been meaning to get to for years? I read DoSaB when it first came out, but I still have yet to get to either of the sequels, even though I know I'm going to love them. It sometimes daunts me how many books I want to read compared to how many I actually end up getting to.
I made an indie bookstore trip earlier this month and picked up this darling. I've been waiting for the sequel to be out since I read TSS last year but it took me forever to pick it up. I'm glad I finally did though bc I'm ready to reunite with Kate and August 🖤
I have truly truly fallen down the rabbit hole of dc comics and i may have made an over the top trip to the local comic store oops. I'm really enjoying Super Sons especially bc Jon Kent and Damian Wayne are so cute together.
I've been meaning to get to this book since I've heard interesting things about it and I'm always fond of retellings that take the original and add a twist. I probably won't get to this until next weekend or after since I have so much reading from my classes but fingers crossed!
August was the month I really got into comics and I have to say I'm surprised by how much I've enjoyed it. I've read a handful of DC ones so far and my utter favorite characters are Jason Todd and Tim Drake. I will say I love Dick Grayson as well, and I'm so excited to read this one, courtesy of Allison who has seen me literally fall apart over these characters lol.
The Epic Crush of Genie Lo is a fave read of mine! I still need to acquire myself a copy but if you haven't read it yet, I strongly recommend you change that asap. I'm starting to regain some of my inspiration for bookstagram but here's hoping it'll last.
I just finished reading Hate to Want You and it was just as amazing as I'd hope for. This book is a pitch perfect concoction of romance and angst and all good things; I'm so excited to read the rest of the series. Also pictured: the cutest swag to exist from Courtney Milan's fab Brothers Sinister series.
Ever since I read Black Bird of the Gallows I've been in the mood for creepy and haunting YA. Maybe it's finally time for me to pick up one of these books since they've been sitting on my shelf for eons. If you have any creepy YA recs I'd love to hear them!
