One of my favorite things lately has been to switch things up at the gym. 🔀💃🏻I’ve been adding new exercises to my routine, changing up my cardio time/exercises, adding more time to my rest periods in between sets, switching up the days I go to the gym, etc.

Variety is the spice of life, and I find that switching things up really makes things fun and interesting for me. So if you find yourself in a rut...try something new!

Yesterday I worked back + biceps, and I absolutely loved the new biceps exercises I tried. 💪 I thought I’d share these with you today in case you too are in need of a little switcharoo!

Hammer plate curl – 20 x 3
Overhead cable curl – 20 x 3

Today I am taking the day off the gym, so I’m thinking of going for a walk outside (must bundle up since Fall has definitely arrived in Boise🍃🍂)...and also on a shopping hunt for Fall-scented candles to make our home extra cozy & warm. ‘Tis the season, right? For Cupcakes:
2 eggs
1 cup mashed bananas
1 cup @sunbutter sunflower seed butter
¼ cup honey
½ cup coconut flour
2 scoops @vitalproteins Dark Chocolate & Blackberry Collagen Peptides
¼ cup raw cacao powder
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon sea salt
½ cup blackberries
½ cup @enjoylifefoods mini chocolate chips

For Toppings: 
½ cup @enjoylifefoods mini chocolate chips
½ cup blackberries
2 tablespoons honey
.
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl & set aside. Mix wet ingredients in a bowl, fold in blackberries + chocolate chips and set aside. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients & mix well. Pour mixture into lined muffin pan & bake for 40 minutes at 350F. In a saucepan, mix together blackberries + honey until blackberries break apart. Microwave chocolate chips (20 seconds at a time) until melted. Decorate muffins with blackberry mixture/melted chocolate. ENJOY!

Here’s something you may not know about me…I am an all in or all out kind of girl. I don’t half a$$ anything! At least not when it comes to effort. So on the days that I go to the gym, I give it my all. Because in my head, what’s the point in going and not taking full advantage of it? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is that a little OCD? 🤔😱Perhaps. 😂 But I can’t help it…it’s who I am!

So, on the days that I do back and biceps, you know that those two muscle groups end up dead afterwards! 🏋🏻‍♀️😬 The mind-body connection, the slow and controlled movements, the squeeze, the many reps…they all play a role in completely obliterating my muscles, so they can tear and grow!

It feels good. And I absolutely love this fitness lifestyle of mine. I workout, eat right, sleep well, drink lots of water, spend time with friends and family (another part of being healthy) and try to partake in new adventures every week to add that extra spice to life that we all secretly know helps us stay young! 👵🏻🚫...👧🏻💯👍

Today we are off to watch football at one of my friend’s house, since they are showing us their new deck area. She built it all by herself, and I secretly think it was built specifically for this time of year: football season. 🏈🏈 I’ve seen photos of their deck and it looks amazing, she is the biggest pro…that girl can do it all!

To it, I plan on brining this killer bacon guac…and highly considering brining a warm salsa, made with cherry tomatoes, balsamic vinegar and butter as a second little diparoo! 🤗

For the guac, you’ll need:
1 ½ avocados
4 bacon strips 
1 jalapeno pepper
5 cherry tomatoes 
¼ diced onion
2 garlic cloves
