7 years ago my friend was trying to talk me into running a half marathon. I totally laughed and said she was crazy. The furthest I had run was 5 miles at that point and even that was super hard. 😳

Not only did I say yes, but I've continued to run and train for races ever since. In less than 3 weeks, I will be running my 2nd marathon! This is/was a mental transformation πŸ™Œ Never say never and turn can't in to CAN!

Fueling my body after an 18 mile training run today. I needed the extra protein, veggies, and fruit that this simple dinner provided.

Baked chicken drumsticks in oven at 400 for about an hour. Seasoned with a mixture of salt, pepper and ranch seasoning. Veggies were drizzled with olive oil and seasoned with sea salt and pepper. Fresh fruit to round it out.

August is coming to a close which means Chicago Marathon is getting closer....About 5 weeks out! My mileage this month wasn't as high as it should have been. IT Band strain is no joke and without risking even more injury I had to adjust my plan to not over do it. It has definitely helped! Ramping up to finish strong the next few weeks. 16 miler this weekend 😬

Not sure I'll hit my time goal now, but that's ok! I'm going to see how I feel have the best experience I can. Who knows, I may surprise myself πŸ™
