A big one is in the works, 36x48 to make a statement. I wanted a sweeping sky, where you feel empowered to chase your dreams, where your potential feels endless and the sky's the limit. Horizons do that for me, every single time. Happy Saturday friends, may you harness your potential and chase dreams this weekend.
Finishing up another small in this set, calling it Copper Canyon. I'm loving using a turkey feather and this paint, Iridescent Rich Bronze. Even the name sounds luscious does it? Also loving the long weekend because it's already Wednesday, yay!!
Happy Thanksgiving friends, hope your day is filled with the people you love. For me, today is about family time, walks along the cottage road, dogs, waves on the lake (it's windy today), pumpkin pie and turkey. What is filling you up on this long weekend?
Texture and a little grey blue, work in progress from today's studio time. Lots of layers, a whole lotta texture and I'm feeling happy, blue sky sure helps. Going to leave this one for now, take a few peeks at it this evening and add more details tomorrow. I was going to add a bit of red to this collection but I'm undecided. What do you think, red or no red?
So here's the truth, I signed up for the #30paintingsin30days September art challenge and don't have 30 individual paintings to show for it. I'm not upset or disappointed in any way because 1) I painted or created every single day 2) I started more than 30 new pieces, some big and some small 3) I challenged myself and I learned a ton. That's what this challenge was all about in the end, the lessons I needed to learn. One day I may complete all 30 as one collection but until then I'll enjoy the process and play. Like these works on paper. I LOVE creating, then picking my favourite bits to matte and frame. I'm creating a shop and these will be featured in it. So many plans, Happy Monday friends!
Texture, always fill your life with texture. Happy weekend friends, what's going on in your world? Me, we are back from walking the dog and a trip to the farmers market. I even painted for two hours this morning. Feeling super productive. Now I must go chauffeur some kids around. Enjoy your Saturday!!
It's the weekend🎉🎉 We've got the tunes on and hubby is making his signature dish. So happy it's Friday. Sold this little gold framed mini, sun bursting out of the clouds, last weekend. What do you think of these gold framed mini pieces of artwork? Should I buy more?
We've had a lot of blue sky this September which fills me up, although I'm still slow to get moving in the mornings. Maybe I should start drinking coffee😂 Nah I'll stick with tea. Off for my walk with the pup before it gets too unbearably hot. We don't normally say that at the end of September, it feels good right!! Soak it in friends, enjoy your Tuesday. (#14 /30 for my art challenge)
Rusted Magic (12x12) hanging out in the rock garden as I melt on the porch. Man oh man it's hot and humid today. Isn't it October this week?? BTW - This is #12 /30 of my art challenge. I'm so behind, may never actually paint 30 because I was working on some big beauties but it got me painting every single day. And that's was my goal, right?
Today is the WEST Studio Tour from 11 to 5, dido for tomorrow, so come to 18 Hampton to see me. Grab your brochure and then hit the rest of the artists on the map. So much talent!! Here's my tribute to Game of Thrones, all my cool rusty bits for making collage paper and my new seal stamp. I shall send them out to the realm. Do you see it, or am I spending too much time watching GOT? No spoilers I'm only on season 3!!
A whole pile of hand made textured cards for the @westendstudiotour -Saturday and Sunday 11-5. I'm on the porch at 18 Hampton Avenue, stop by to say hello. These cards were so much fun to make, I'll definitely be making more. What colours are your favourite?
Great evening @stonewallwildes, it was fun to see so many pieces of my art hanging in one gallery. This big beauty looked quite dramatic by the main entrance (36x48). Also, I have the most supportive family who dropped by at different times to give me hugs, how lucky is that!!
The painting continues, everyday all day. I shut my eyes and I'm painting, I walk up and I'm still painting. This is #10 /30, I'm in the double digits!!! Part of my earth series, Canadian Shield, layers of rocks ... Mother Earth you are incredible to paint and I'm grateful for the inspiration🙏
Back to the water, back to the calm of the blue. Finally coming up for air, literally painted all weekend. Feeling tired and super productive, getting more organized for my full week ahead. How was your weekend?
Full days of painting, getting ready for two events next week. These are work in progress shots from a large painting, lots of fun creating something brand new. I'm counting it as part of my art challenge (7/30) since the goal was to paint every single day, and I'm getting my groove back. I'm a painting maniac right now. How's your Thursday?
