Happy Monday! ✨ I'm got a busy week ahead - I'm planning some fall orientation events at work for the new class of students, and editing some writing for my thesis 💪🤓 What does the week hold in store for you?
On #internationalcatday#iggythekitty strikes a pose this morning out on the balcony while I ate breakfast ⚡️☕️. In other matters, we've discovered the secret to keeping majestic palms alive - distilled water. What diva plants!! I've killed at least three before I heard about this tip! 💀🔪 🌿🌱
A happy gloomy day on Sunday! Maybe I'm strange for enjoying an overcast day, but it feels to me like the world is wrapped in a blanket. It also completely justifies snuggling up with a cup of tea and a good movie and not feeling pressure to be outside in the summer 😊️
#magichour on the Chicago River ✨✨ I don't always appreciate Chicago, these last few years I've been pining for home and the weather in the winter drives me bananas, but you can't deny it's a beautiful city. 👌🎈
This photo appeared today on my Facebook "on this day" feed from five years ago. I took a 1960s vintage Minolta camera on the trip and I had to be selective in what I shot because I only had one roll of film (36 exposures). Kind of crazy to think that's the way it used to work, when now with digital we can take thousands and thousands and immediately delete the ones that don't work! Getting the roll developed was also special, I had no idea how the photos had turned out and seeing some good ones there was a thrill. There's something magical about analog photography ☾
Ryan borrowed our friends' pup early this morning and took him on a long walk around the neighborhood, ending up at the harbor. I think he was pretty happy about it #thatface 😄 Going out with Drake is always interesting because he basically walks you and tells you where he wants to go. He knows all the stores that hand out dog treats and is good friends with all the workers 😂🐶
It's easy to be inspired to take photographs when traveling somewhere new and different, but can be harder at home when you become so accustomed to your surroundings. This street is Broadway just outside of my apartment, but I rarely stop to appreciate just how pretty it is in the summer!
