This is photographer @brian_barnhart. Pictured here is my friend Jenna, she has been battling breast cancer for over a year and continues to ride her MTB and BMX and stay positive despite the adversity she faces. I interviewed and photographed her for the new @brokenandcoastal mag, due out real soon. I gotta say it brought me to tears to read here responses and I’m sure anyone who reads it will be moved. Much love. @digga.sc #fuckcancer#pma#breastcancerawareness#bicyclefilmfestival#mtb#mtbdog#santacruzmtb

This is photographer @brian_barnhart with my Instagram takeover. The Santa Cruz mountains have some awesome bikepacking routes that can be linked together with fire roads, singletrack and coastal roads. And I know @mountainbikersofsantacruz are working hard to make it even better. These photos are from a fun trip I did with Billy Arlew and Sam Pederson when I was living in Santa Cruz. @sam_pederson @billyarlew #bicyclefilmfestival#bikepacking#adventurecycling#santacruzmountains#californiacoast

Hi, this is Brian Barnhart, welcome to my account takeover. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite bicycle photos. Here are some scenes from an overnight bikepacking trip from San Francisco to Mount Tamalpais and Bolinas with Jackson Allen and Guy French last year. After climbing Mt.Tam we bombed a trail down to the coastal side only to find Route 1 closed, forcing us to climb the mountain again to eventually reach Bolinas Beach. -@brian_barnhart posting from Portland, Oregon. #bikepacking#bicyclefilmfestival#goldengatebridge#adventurecycling#goldenhours#mounttamalpais
Hi, this is Matteo de Mayda (@demayda), photographer from Italy, this will be my final post for the Bicycle Film Festival’s Instagram taking over.
In the last days I've published bicycle stories I've covered in Guatemala, China, Italy, United States and now I'd like to end with a great little project from Treviso, the small town where I was born.
The woman in the picture is Maria, she entered Italy after having faced a long journey from Gambia, when she was still a minor.
I took this image during her nineteenth birthday to promote these beautiful jackets that the group of asylum seekers of Talking Hands has designed by modifying the classic fluorescent bike vests.
Talking Hands, is a migrant-run design workshop in Treviso, Italy, where refugees in transit or currently living in the town get to create objects and furniture under the guidance of acclaimed local designers, and sell them to the community.
Thanks again to Brendt Barbur (@brendtbarbur) and the Bicycle Film Festival who gave me the opportunity to share my images on this beautiful account.
Erlend Øye, half of the Norwegian duo Kings of Convenience, chose Siracusa in Sicily to live and produce his music. He says that "it is not easy to find a city where the artistic heritage mixes so well with the uncontaminated landscape". Hi, this is Matteo de Mayda (@demayda), photographer from Italy. I’m taking over the Bicycle Film Festival’s Instagram. In the last years I have documented several bicycle stories around the world, which Brendt Barbur (@brendtbarbur), director of the festival, kindly invited me to share here.
After all I thought a little rest at Prospect Park would be fine.
I took this picture in 2013, when I visited New York to document the cycling culture in the Big Apple.
