Getting ready to fall asleep. Thinking of the PCT, the ones I love most, and all the good that resides in our world. Think happy thoughts, don’t ever let life bring you down. There is a silver lining between every dark cloud and we all deserve a little light.
One morning before @homelessartproject (HAP) began @jessikamessika and I were wandering around in Library Park passing out flyers until we came upon a woman named Alissa who was wearing a Grinch beanie and a pair of heavy duty Mossy Oak overalls. We handed her a flyer and started chatting with her soon to find out she is a cellist. At one point she stood up, unzipped her overalls and revealed to us she was in full, all black, ready to play performance wear! We immediately encouraged her to come perform at HAP that day and she told us she would only show up if she had her cello and then contacted her keyboardist, Al who was storing it for her. Around 12:45 her and Al came out, set up, and blew our minds. Afterward we arranged to have them play for the HAP opening art show. Then, later that night Jess and I ran into a friend of ours @fostidae who owns Miracle Mile Records and he offered to sponsor them! These are the types of interactions that go to show you cannot judge anyone by their cover, ever. Humans are beautiful, homeless or not. We all crave love, respect, creativity, and happiness. The best thing you can do for another person is to help bring that out of them. Love to all, Kp. ❤️ #thisisredding#miraclemilerecords#homelessartproject#homelessartist#supportlocal
It’s amazing how much different food taste when it comes from a place such as @inwoodcommunityfarm I could not get over how beautiful these heirlooms were. Stay local everyone, support your community, nourish your body, and eat the rainbow. @redbicyclecatering
Let’s all take a moment to admire the size of the collard greens that @inwoodcommunityfarm dropped off of for us today @redbicyclecatering HOLY HEALTH. We chopped up two bunches and added them to our Cajun red beans and rice which can be made vegetarian or with sausage!
When you go to the nutrition store on your bike for one thing before they close so you can compare the price of an item to Amazon and end up spending more money anyway because kombucha and vegetables. Yes, that is red leaf lettuce tied to the top of my backpack.
Heartbreaking to know that one of the most breathtaking places I've ever seen is on fire. Forever grateful to my sweet @rexonrex for taking me to this magical space on our planet. To any of the humans out there that think it's okay to throw fireworks into nature, it's not. So just don't, okay?
My Mom sent me this photo of the eclipse happening through the window architecture in the building she works at right in the heart of Downtown Houston. She didn't have eclipse glasses so a Doctor in the building handed out X-ray film. Way to be artsy, Ma!
