What’s the best gift you can give your kids?

At 4 years-old he might not realize it now. But 15 years from now is he going to remember that truck 🚜 under the tree or that Mom took good care of herself?

I think the best 🎁  gift we can give our kids is good health. I know my future is unforeseeable but exercise 🏊🏻‍♀️ and good nutrition is controllable.

Being around as long as possible is the BEST GIFT I can give my kids. Better than any toy, any ticket 🎟 to a concert, or fancy 👩🏻‍💻 electronic.

What exactly is the ‘Mom Body’?

I mean if you really think about it, our bodies are a work of art!  You literally grew a being inside of you.  Of course you’re going to have stretch marks and loose skin.

Although it has taken some time...I can now truly accept this incredible process of what our bodies go through.  It’s not ok to accept and let go though. We must also realize, it’s not just about those 9-10 months. The time after the birth, the present day...it also matters how we treat ourselves now.

Being active
Being alive
Being in the moment
Being the best versions of ourselves
Being mindful of how we fuel ourselves
Being a good role model for our kids
.
I understand it takes work. But sitting around feeling lousy takes work too.

The “Mom Body” for sure changes, unless you were born with an amazing gene pool.  But it doesn’t have to feel awful to live in it.  This day in age they make great clothes to hide all those imperfections...but who likes anyone who is perfect anyways?

On Sunday as I listened to Haley 😢 cry about all that is wrong with the world my heart crumbled and flashbacks appeared. What I wish I understood at 10, was it’s ok to be yourself.
.
Both Haley and I are guilty of being too sensitive.  We are also not perfect and we’ve made mistakes.  There are a lot of things we all wish we could do over.
.
I strive to teach her kindness. And yesterday through her tears I hope the message got through. Haley be yourself. You don’t have to try and be someone you are not to make others happy.  You don’t need to tease someone to impress others or to make yourself feel better.  Do what is in your ❤️ heart.
.
Being the parent 👩‍👧of a 10 year old girl is so hard.  I wish her little mind could understand it all.  For now I’ll just hug her and tell her I understand.

Haley, I understand the pressure you feel to be accepted and to fit in. I understand your body is flooded with hormones, and just a simple glimpse in your direction, might make you cry.  I understand you are trying to find your connection in this world.  I understand.  And although I may not always agree with your choices, my 👩‍❤️‍👩 love for you will never change.  My hope is you realize only YOU can make yourself happy.  No gift, no amount of money, no particular friend...just you, can fulfill your heart.  Do what feels right.  Love and accept yourself... and you will feel free.

🐌 Slow and steady progress beats a quick fix every time. Something I always had to remind myself in the beginning was, you didn’t gain 50 pounds overnight... you aren’t going to lose them overnight either.

It’s about putting in the effort EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Best part is it is so much more than just a physical change. It’s about feeling good, feeling proud 🏆 of yourself and being confident in your own skin. The longer it takes to reach those goals...the more proud and more accomplished you will feel.
.
Don’t search for the “quick fix” or the short term change. Go all in and make it last. Be the 🐢 tortoise, take your time and enjoy the process. That’s what this program has taught me more than anything. It doesn’t have to be a drag to lose weight and get healthy.

Choose a system you enjoy and 👭surround yourself with positive and motivating people... the ultimate key to getting and staying healthy.

✂️SHORT HAIR DON’T CARE!
.
Upon burning my hair while in London, I was forced to chop my hair.  Just the thought of it caused me huge anxiety and seriously made me 😢 cry.  WHY?!
.
Maybe it’s because the last time I had short hair was my sophomore year in college.  My face was full from the freshman fifteen... so short hair was not flattering but it also made me look 5 years younger.  As if developing late as a teenager wasn’t enough,  I’ve always been questioned about my age.  I was a Tomboy and sometimes felt like I didn’t quite fit in with the all the girls 👯‍♀️. I wanted to march to the beat of my own drum yet never wanted to feel left out.
.
I’m 39 now.  It’s about time I give myself a smack and get out of my damn head.  But there are still those doubts...Could I be a better 👩‍👦Mom, can I do more with my career, did I make the right choices?  Some of it I truly believe is just human nature.  But we must remember we are all on the same journey through life without a defined beginning, middle or end.  There’s going to be all sorts of twists and turns and let’s hope that we can all learn from them.  It’s my job now to teach this to my kids.

The lesson will always be, be uniquely you, because there will never be another.  Believing in yourself is one of the most powerful things you can hold.  Never let self-doubt hold you captive.  Remember, you are worthy of it all.  You my friend, are perfect 😘!
