Some people ask/tease me about me wearing biking gear even when I know I am not going to cover a significant distance! Well I always say you never know when it would be useful! One such incident happened during my trip to Tamhini ghat. On the way to Tamhini, there is an extremely patchy Mulshi - Paud road where you can possibly not go at a speed beyond 25-30kmph and so being aware of the situation, I was at a decent speed. However who can avoid the inevitable! At one point there was a turn and a patchy road along with sand and a smooth road just ahead of a bad patch! So a car driver who was just ahead of me, saw a pothole at the last moment and applied an urgent brake! And hence I had to do so too! And then it happened! I skid on the wet and muddy road! But! Thanks to the gear I was wearing, I escaped the scene literally without a scratch which otherwise would have been a tragic experience! Yes I felt the pain for 2-3 days due to the hit I took but the way it happened, fracture would have been a minimum expectation! #Vega Helmet saved my head, #ProBikerGloves saved my fingers, #Foxgear saved my knees, Shoes saved my toes and finally the jacket saved my elbows! Obviously as you can see I escaped the mishap in a quite decent way but unfortunately my #SuzukiGixxerSf didn't! But she will be fine soon too! You can see the broken fairing in the pic! But then I rose up and continued and successfully completed the trip! After all, what's the point if you don't rise up after falling! But one thing I learnt for sure was that no matter how much distance you are going to cover, be prepared because #SafetyComesFirst
Surely looking forward to going Tamhini again!
