Helllooo again! A little about myself for *Meet the CHAARGie Monday*: I am a senior majoring in Human Development and Family Studies + minoring in psych with the goal of becoming a therapist. A few of my favorite things are: running [did 3⚑️miles today!] + hiking/kayaking/anything outdoors, practicing mindfulness, music, trying new foods, hearing people's stories, and living a balanced lifestyle. Treated myself to my favorite homemade dinner at the moment - a Thai peanut rice, veggie + tofu bowl πŸ˜‹ the recipe: base of brown rice, stir fry frozen veggie mix, pan fried tofu with black pepper + turmeric to taste, annnnd the Thai peanut sauce [1/4c pb2, splash of coconut aminos, squeeze of agave, ginger powder, garlic powder, red pepper flakes + water (sorry I don't measure really lol)], then sprinkle with some cilantro + enjoy! #chaargeats #iuchaarg #chaargexec #listentoyourbody

LETS TALK BODY POSITIVITY πŸ˜ƒ to me, body positivity means loving the body I'm in. And loving the body I am in means taking care of the body I am I am in. And taking care of the body I am in means eating fruits and veggies and whole grains and tofu and exercising when I do want to and pushing myself when I don't want to. But taking care of my body also means not feeling bad about it after occasionally gettin my drank on or having some ice cream or spending the day chillin/listening when my body needs a rest day. To me body positivity means feeling positive about my body, no matter what, while at the same time doing positive things for my body. -------------------------------
Lately, I have seen a lot of different ideas and misinterpretations of body positivity specifically from judgmental h8ers who say shit like: "What the heck, he/she is so unhealthy looking, why should they be accepting of their body when they obviously unhealthy?!" And I just wanna be like BECAUSE EVERYONE DESERVES LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE IN ITS MOST MEANINGFUL AND TRUE FORM. PLUS, the irony is is once we accept and love ourselves as we are is when we can make positive change (Carl Rogers). --------------
Personally, I have been "heavy" and I have been "skinny" and I was not loving of my body at either end. But now I love my body no matter what because I know I do my best to take care of it in a balanced way. Obviously everyone has negative body image days and positive ones, but being body positive means knowing that when you feel bad, you deserve to feel good and combat negative thoughts. No matter what... I now ❀️ my nose and my hips and my back dimples and my booty and front facing camera face and my belly rolls and my stretch marks - things I didn't used to love/accept at all.
