I originally planned it to be positioned this way but I don't think it pulls you in as much. #sculpture #sculptureoftheday #gallery #modernart #contemporaryart #sculptor #lovelandcolorado #fortcollinsart #artistsoninstagram

I have a little more to tighten up before I dump some rubber on this thing. #sculpture #art #abstractart #modernsculpture #contemporaryart #artgallery #instaart #lovelandcolorado #geometricart #handcarved #geologic #ancient #civilization #lovelandart #fortcollinsart

Just in time for the rut. This forky had been taken down by predator. Found it a couple years ago. Bronze and marble. A portion of my sales go to mule deer foundation. Avail in wall mount too. Link in bio. #sculpture #muledeer #metalwork #art #artwork #muledeerfoundation #skull #rusticdecor
For now he's got a nice little harem. The big boys will be in soon though to take over. #muledeer #rut #horsetoothreservoir #coloradowild #publicland
My progression through the timber was at a pace that was unforgiving to the deadfall in the way of my boots and pack. I knew the elk would hear me, but with the wind in my face, the sun setting, anxiety growing, I didn't care. As I cow called my way in, I soon had the bugling bull within 50 yrds. I couldn't see him through the timber but knew he was close and could hear his cows moving away. With arrow nocked I let a bugle rip. Catching movement in the timber, I dropped to my knees as he started crashing through the brush. Readying myself for intensity, I reached for my range finder(no time for that). I clipped my release to my string and raised my bow as he pushed through the last bit of brush. He stopped looking for a fight and let out a bugle that shook me to my core. I'll never forget that ear piercing scream as we stared at each other face to face, me holding the bow up, trying to calm my adrenaline stricken body, and judging to draw or not. After a minute of us both questioning what we were doing he slowly spun and moved off. I turned my head and bugled once more letting most of the air out of my lungs. This time he tried paralleling me, moving toward the downwind side of the mountain. I looked to the only shooting lane I had, which was more of a tunnel, and quickly counted off yards. I knew it was less than 20 and finally drew back. He stepped up to the tunnel, I put my pin on his vitals and sent it. Smack, right behind the shoulder. He ran 25 yrds and I let out another bugle. He stopped, bugled back, and tipped over. As I watched his antlers go down a minute later, I knew it was all over. Well not really...I was 5 miles back and had my first elk on the ground. Knowing what was ahead of me I decided to quarter him out that night. #bowhunting #backcountryhunters #kifaruphotocontest #firstlite #elkhunting #solohunter #sendit #backpackhunting #coloradobha
