Last day on my 5 day trial for B&H Live gym group in Bournemouth, and i have to be honest it was good to have access to a gym to continue training, but there are a lot of things wrong with the layout, and I have issues with some of the equipment too.
Of course this is my personal opinion and preference based around my techniques and routines I've learnt and do, im sure this works out for other people training, but not having a 90 degrees bench for shoulders or isolated machines for different muscle groups or a designated mat areas to work core or free weights etc, all these little things to me add up, and although I worked out different routines to adapt to what was on offer, I personally know that because different sides of my body are stronger than other parts, to work isolated muscles, at this gym it would only be achievable with free weights and cords.
Overall after testing it out, having the advantage to swim, go to the sauna and go to classes, doesn't out weight better equipment! I cannot wait to get back to my gym next week and smash it in an environment that is taylor'ed to my individual needs 👍🏻🙌🏻
This week I thought I would partake in the IG 'Transformation Tuesday' trend, as this month marks the 12 month point of me joining the gym and starting down the path to self improvement.
I had a lot of issues going on this time last year which were all contributing and impacting on my health and work, but joining the gym was the best decision I have made in my life so far. Not only have I improved my body physically it has done wonders for my mental health too.
I never used to understand why people loved the gym so much or that the it could help improve mental health issues, but now talking from first hand experience a year on, I totally back and believe what all the medical professionals say about regular fitness.
I've still got a long way to go to strengthen my back from my car incident 3 years ago as i still have good and bad days, but I'm determined to hit that goal and continue pushing myself further to achieve results, and i am trying to apply this mentality in all aspects of my life.
I have to say a massive thank you to @marcotulioba for all his help, guidance and experiences in training me and pushing me further, it's down to him getting me to where I am today, so thank you so much bro 🙌🏻👍🏻💪🏻🔥
Looking at the difference 12 months can make honestly anything is possible if you put you mind to it! Seize the day or as my father always used to say, 'don't put off tomorrow what could be done today'
