There’s always one person that spews a steady stream of “balance” in my feed. I can’t help but turn my nose up at it most of the time. Balance can be great and has got me fully back on track a few different times over the years, but I look at balance as a weight slowing most down. Balance, for the most part, keeps you where you are at and has potential to improve a bad situation. So balance is great for anyone spiraling out of control or in a really bad place(eating disorders, mental health issues, right after a show, being off track for an extended period of time), but if you don’t fit the criteria, why on earth are you embracing something that is going to hinder progress? Going all out or being “hardcore” is NOT a bad thing and be careful listening to the words of anyone that thinks balanced is the only way. One way ticket to mediocrity from what I’ve seen. Use balance to get to a place you are confident you can make an attack, but be ready to push the envelope if you have a goal that doesn’t include being exactly where you are right now.

Great chest/shoulder/tricep workout today with @ecstormtrooper. Kept negatives super controlled and slow so I could keep loads lower. Focused on tension, contraction, and a stretch on every rep.

Great chest/shoulder/tricep workout today with @ecstormtrooper. Kept negatives super controlled and slow so I could keep loads lower. While you may have worked for years at building the body you want, time gives zero fucks and will eventually take that from you as well. Whether that's bodybuilding, business, your grades, raising your kids, or your relationship....if you want something special, it's going to take work and a denial of lazy. This is admittedly something I struggle with at times in different aspects of my life, so I need this post just as much as anyone else.
