What a good idea. ☺ For every story shared with the #thankyoumidwife hashtag Pampers will donate £1 to the Royal College of Midwives Trust. ⭐️ We are so grateful for the lovely midwives at GBH. From start to finish they were all wonderful. I didn't have a tough pregnancy but it wasn't plain sailing either.
We can't thank the midwife enough for how quickly she acted when she realised Eloise wasn't coping. We went to maternity for a "quick check up" and I was being prepped for theatre 20 mins later! The midwife, doctor and team in theatre thought we were crazy/hilarious for being so chilled out. Don't get me wrong, watching your baby's heart rate continuously drop is terrifying but we knew we were in safe hands and the situation was fairly under control...and to be honest after what Derek had been through a few weeks before, an emergency c section was a doddle - especially when it's done by your husbands uncle who you trust beyond measure. I was the only Mam in maternity (perks of living in Shetland 💁🏻) so I am very thankful for the first class treatment we both got. (AKA taking Eloise in the middle of the night while she was a nocturnal newborn and letting me sleep 😂) and bringing Eloise into the world in the safest way they could. 👶🏻☺ #baby#newborn#daddyanddaughter#csection *** Reading this back I realised I really sugar coated what happened in that 20 minutes 😂 so in effort to #keepitreal there was a touch of pre-eclampsia, some crazy high blood pressure and an arrangement to be air ambulanced to Aberdeen which was scrapped when they monitored Eloise's heart rate and realised she needed out ASAP)
Derek may have won the real tree/fake tree debate (this year) but I actually quite like the fake tree now it's up. Can't deny it - I am loving not having to clean up pine needles all the time. 😅 #Christmas#calendar#christmastree
Squeezing in a quick walk between the showers. ☔️ She might not look it but she does love being out in the pram...probably because she is so so nosey. 🙄😂 #needstoseeeverything#neighbourhoodwatch 👀
In other news, we picked up E's EpiPen today and even though it's such a relief to have, it also scares the 💩out of me. Allergies are a pain in the bum!
Come on sunshine where are you?! ☀️It might be almost winter but it would nice if the 0.9 seconds of daylight we now get in Shetland was at least nice. 😂So here is a #tb to pretty skies and long walks.
Happy Halloween 🎃
Our little witch had absolutely no clue what was going on but was delighted to have some witchy stories to read and some more outfits made by Granny (It even glows in the dark!) We read 'Room on the Broom' at bedtime and I had forgotten how much I love it! #lovebooks#witch#happyhalloween#myfirsthalloween#halloween#dressedup
6 months old. ❤
My heart is bursting with love for this girl. It does not feel like Eloise has been in our lives for half a year. What an amazing 6 months we have had. (Yep I have rose coloured glasses tonight and I'm forgetting all the rough milk allergy and reflux days 😳) Time is flying by and I'm both loving all the new things E is learning to do but also wishing time would slow down a bit, she is growing before my eyes! 💕
Love having flowers in the house.
Especially a bunch of flowers...just add water, some sunshine and voila! No flower killing guilt when they start to die. 👍🏻 Unlike the (beautiful 😭) Orchids I got from Derek for my birthday. I just can't keep flowers alive. 🤷🏻♀️ #floppyflowers
I am loving the Autumn prints. Shopping for a baby never gets boring. 🙊 How cute are these sleepsuits?! 😍It really is about time I got shares in Next with the amount I have bought since Eloise was born. 🤷🏻♀️
A #tb to when our bedroom was organised. We're in the middle of getting Eloise's new bedroom sorted. (Why did I think it was a good idea to put her in the smallest bedroom...🤔) Everything is everywhere so I can't wait to get the last coat of paint on and get her moved in soon. Time to get this house sorted! 😅
Tiny newborn feet. #allthefeels
It's such a cliché but seriously where has the past few months gone and how is my baby 4 months old?! I really need to keep a diary of all the new things she can do because I definitely won't remember all the small changes in a few months time. (Or weeks 🤦🏻♀️ Can I still use baby brain as an excuse?)
