Police still searching for suspects in 2 vape store thefts!
PADUCAH, KY -
Paducah police still need your help Monday night finding two men responsible for more than $5,000 in theft and property damage. It took less than an hour to hit Chuckin’ Clouds Vape Shop on Old Mayfield Road and later Kick-N-Ash Vapor on Lone Oak Road. The first robbery took place at 12:45 a.m., the second at 1:20 a.m.
Police say the men are both between 5 feet, 8 inches and 6 feet tall. One is described as thin, and the other as having a medium build. Both had on long sleeved shirt with hoods and sweatpants. They were recorded on surveillance video
Hunter Kennedy is a business manager for three Kick-N-Ash vape shops. He’s usually mixing up vape liquid or waiting on customers. Instead of stocking the shelves, he spent Monday throwing them away. “Any day we have to be closed for something like this, whether it be snow or — for the first time — a robbery, it always affects business. It's never good,” Kennedy said.
The two men hit his store looking for the most valuable and most popular items. The most valued product at a vape shop isn’t the liquid. It’s the modules. Some modules in Kennedy’s store sell for between $70 and $115 or more. Kennedy says the suspects knew exactly where to go. He says he suspects they’ll make 100 percent profit online.
Terry Fiser owns Chuckin’ Clouds Vape Store. He, too, believes the two men knew the modules well and knew that they could sell them online. “It's unreal,” Fiser told me. “It's kind of shock for a minute. Everything you work for, somebody's walking off with.”
“I've worked for this company for three years. I've been the business manager for two. I've worked hard with the owners to make this place the best shop it can be, and to have somebody come in with no regard for what we've done and just take a hammer to months of work, it's disturbing,” Kennedy added.
The owner of Kick-N-Ash Vapor says he’ll personally give anyone who has information that leads to an arrest $500.
