One of our favorite #murano #glass artists @livioseguso whose glass sculptures evoke such ethereal qualities, even more so on water! #decarts #objects #glass #vetro #craft

Did you know that the Renwick used to be called "the American Louvre" when it was opened to extend the collection of William W. Corcoran from the original Beaux Arts Flagg Building? James Renwick who famously designed the Smithsonian's Renwick Gallery was also the same architect who designed the Smithsonian Castle on the Washington, DC mall. There are so many historic connections between the Smithsonian and the Corcoran, including our very own master's program. #history @corcoran_gw #renwickgallery @renwickcurators @smithsonianassociates #decarts #design #architecture #dc #arthistory #dadh
