It's been a hot second since I posted a food pic... uncharacteristic of me I know! Geechie boy grits are probably the best thing about Charleston. Well, that and the unprecedented amount of cuddle-welcoming dogs. The point is, you cannot visit this city without eating grits at every establishment 🍽 On that note, I'm always looking for new restaurants so if you have tips on some good eats here, I'd love to hear them!
Happy New Year y’all! Today felt like an appropriate day for reflection. I’m currently kicking it in Charleston and loving my new home, but definitely missing Europe every day. Trying to get into a new sense of normal has been tough, but I’m excited for all the big changes coming in 2018. I feel truly blessed for the experiences I’ve had and the people I’ve met along the way, so I’m sharing some of my peaks and valleys on the blog to make this transition into the new year official!
The locals told us the roads on this mountain were too icy for passage... Like any good 20-something, we ignored reason and climbed for the 'gram anyways. Only nearly slid off the mountain slope into the great German abyss 🤷♀️
Reflecting on 2017 and all the fairytale villages I've been fortunate to visit with @thelexpatspassport ✨ I'm simply enamored by the beauty and charm that rests like a veil over these cities. And only a little bit jealous of the daily "grind" these locals have.
Today on the blog I'm sharing more about why I travel. I post pretty pictures often, but never really go into what led me here and how I've changed because of it. I hope my raw averageness inspires you to take the same kind leap one day and if you already have, I'd love to hear your own story!
