Having worked a 9-5 for 6 weeks now, I can honestly say offices are the worst place in the world if you're trying to be healthy - cakes, chocolate and booze (maybe that's just my office) constantly! 🤢
This may not look like a lot of food to most but for me this is a ton - and I take plenty to work with me everyday to avoid all the crap processed food around the office.
Plus since going paleo I've found I can consume so much more, the consistency of my food is much more settling to my stomach than previously and I never feel that my metabolism is slowing down too much to digest or that I'm getting too bloated 💪🏻 Happy Thursday lovelies, have a great day 😘
The return of work-from-home Fridays demands a celebratory hot chia pudding to celebrate 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 Today's was made with alllll my faves: @thechiaco Chia seeds, @linwoodshealthfoods Milled flaxseed, @lucybeecoconut Cacao powder, @plenishcleanse Almond milk and @missfitsnutrition Vanilla vegan protein - all topped with loads of berries, desiccated coconut and @meridianfoods Almond butter 🍓❤️ It's been a bit of a rough week for me so expect tons of comfort food, lots of yoga and probably a lot of wine this weekend ✨
I don't think I've ever been so hungry after the workout than I was this evening - BBG arms is bloody savage 💪🏻 Whipped up this beaut but light post workout dinner in all of 15 mins (literally) and devoured it in about half that time 🙃
Stir fry veggies with chilli bean paste (game changer), coconut aminos and @sriracha_fg and an omelette with spring onion and mushrooms (tucked away underneath) - all sautéed in @lucybeecoconut and topped with toasted sesame seeds 🍳🍜
Not the prettiest of pictures but this 👆 is what I eat in a working day (excluding breakfast and dinner). There was a time when I thought this was a shitload of food and I could never reconcile the idea of losing weight and getting fit with this much food but HUNNY TRUST ME - you need to eat.
Now for a seasoned health person, this still doesn't look like a lot - I don't eat nearly as much compared with the average person (baby stomach probz) but I'm working on it.
Full paleo & pescatarian day of food:
Breakfast - protein smoothie
Meal 2 - chia pudding with bloobies, nuts and seeds and more protein
Lunch: Tilapia fillet with salad
Meal 4: berries, nuts and seeds (preworkout)
Dinner: some kinda fish and veg situation
Or that's what I'm aiming for at least. There are snacks in between, impromptu lunches out and definitely days 'off' but I'm feeling this layout 🤸♀️💕
Working from home means hot chia pudding for lunch and I couldn't be happier about that 🌞😇 There's a flu circulating the office and I think it's finally caught up with me 🙃 woke up feeling sore, sweaty and with a banging headache so I called in sick and I'm having a chill day at home (with a little work thrown in) ✨

HEALTHY HABITS ✨
I'm not a coffee drinker (think hands shaking and chest pain) but I do drink a shed load of tea in my day and even though it's supposed to be summer I still like a hot drink in the morning. I'm trying to reduce the amount of caffeine I take in at the moment so I've swapped my morning tea for a morning hot water and lemons and GUYS - THIS SHIT WORKS. I've been doing this for a few weeks now and the difference is amazing; I feel super energised and hydrated in the mornings and the feeling sticks! Plus my skin is looking super plump and glowing too 🌟
There's a ton of benefits to hot water and lemon in the morning that I'll leave you to investigate but tried and tested this works 🏆

This is homemade paleo bread (yes it was a ballache and a HALF) with smashed avo, lime juice, tons of black pepper, himilayan salt, pickled beetroot and a poached egg - all devoured in about 2 mins in my pjs 😇😇😇 Woke up at 6 this morning and got my #couchto5k run in before work - going to experiment with foam rolling later tonight (pray4me 🙃). I don't know how the hell I managed this but I did so yaaaaaaay to mondays!

A lot of people ask if I think a paleo diet is really sustainable long term and although I 100% believe it is, I also don't do it very strictly. I let myself indulge in bread and other grains (and occasionally legumes) because I don't think you should restrict yourself if it doesn't make you happy. At the moment I'm 20% non paleo, 80% paleo and I'm very happy with that! Those numbers might change in the future and that's totally okay too. If you're struggling with 'labelling' your diet check out @yoga_girl 's latest podcast about diet labelling - sometimes for our own mental wellbeing it's best to just enjoy what we enjoy and forget about being able to tick a certain box 🌟

When you take a 'sick day' from work which is really a personal day because momma needs some headspace ✨
I'm absolutely loving work at the moment, it's a huge challenge but it's a great learning experience and the team are amazing. However - I'm finding it really mentally draining and I end up wasting my evenings pottering around sorting out bits and bobs instead of winding down and working out like I'd like to be. So I took today off to spend a little me time, get done all of those lingering things on my to do list and kick myself into shape for the next few weeks 🌟
I did however prep lunch for today last night so I just chucked it into a bowl and here it is! Someone asked how I make this shredded salmon and literally I just cook a fillet under the grill, shred it after about 10 mins and cook it for a further 5 mins (lazy gal cooking 101)
Moral of the story, take some time for yourself today - you'll be very grateful ❤️❤️
When bae's in town and you get to take him to all of your fave food places 😍😍 Kicking off a weekend back in Leeds with the best brunch at @billsrestaurant - avo on toast with poached eggs for me and a full English (his first!!) for him 💃🏻 I would have normally asked for this without the toast and swapped it out for greens or something but hey it's the weekend so #carbmeup 😈

Last week I was a bit overwhelmed at work as it's a very busy time at the moment and food sort of went out the window - I wasn't eating nearly enough in the day 😒

This is: a bed of mixed greens and purple cabbage, avocado, steamed beets, red pepper and left over shredded turmeric Cajun salmon with a dressing made of hummus, @nandosuk medium hot sauce and apple cider vinegar 💚
This is perfect for the work day as it's high in fat and protein but grain free so doesn't make you feel bloated or overly full when sat at a desk 🙌🏻 Happy hump day people!
Having to leave for work earlier and trying to squeeze in a yoga session before hand means most of my breakfast is a bit of a mess these days - still balanced and clean but no pretty blooby placement til the weekend I think 😂
Started off the morning with a mess of salad (micros), avo (fats) and two terribly poached eggs (protein) after a heavenly yoga flow in the garden 🍳🥑💚 I was so caught up in my new job yesterday that I actually forgot to eat for probably the first time ever so today I'm starving and have bought a ton of food to work with me to keep me going through the day and into a BBG workout later today!

Want a sure fired good morning? Chia pudding is the answer friends 🙌🏻 Prepped up a cacao chia pudding last night and left it in the fridge to set but no nanas meant it was still a little runny this morning so I chucked it in the pan and heated it up to burn off the remaining liquid.
