I was always saying that I'll start next Monday or after the holidays because I knew I wouldn't be able to avoid all the yummy food! I was an all or nothing dieter! I would eat all the food the weekend before the Monday i was starting 😳 have you done that too?
I wish I knew then what I know now! Because I would have realized that I could achieve the results i was looking for without taking extreme measures and always waiting to start on a certain day!

Do you look 👀 at the nutrition label and read the ingredients?
Honestly if I answered this question 5 years ago I would have said I only cared about the macros (protein/carbs/fat) and that's how I chose what product I bought! I also went by word of mouth and if my friend said it was amazing I would buy it and not really do my own research.
But my colitis diagnosis gave me a reality check and made me realize that it does matter what's in it! All of the garbage I was feeding myself slowly destroyed my gut 😞
So often I have people ask me about different brands of shakes and they show me a nutrition label that has similar macros as the shake I drink and they think it's the same exact thing! They decide to go with said shake because it's so much cheaper.
But did you ever wonder why one product would be THAT much cheaper than another if they were the exact same thing?! 🤔
Because the ingredients that make up the macronutrients are not the same at all, that's why they're not the same price. You really do get what you pay for! The healthier and more "clean" the ingredients, the more money you're going to pay. Things to stay away from 🚫 are aspartame, sucralose and other artificial sweeteners, casein & WPC, skim milk powders/milk solids, vegetable oils and fats!
There's no point in looking at the macro nutrients if you don't bother to look at what items are making up these numbers! Those numbers mean nothing!

Attempting to gauge how we are doing in comparison to someone else will never lead to an accurate evaluation because no two people are ever exactly alike. We come from different backgrounds. We possess different talents. We have different strengths and weaknesses. So how then would it ever be a fair assessment to hold ourselves and any other person to the exact same measuring stick?"

What was your favorite dessert growing up?
I ate ring dings, ding dongs, lil Debbie cakes, twinkies every - single - night! And I remember clear as day getting mad at my mom and not wanting to eat anything at all if I had to share the snack with my brother or sister 😳
So it's pretty evident that I LOVE my sweets 🎂

Monday's are the hardest days for me to wake up!

So today I did MMA kick butt and it was amazing!! My day started off great and then It went downhill when I had to wake the teen up for school again and try to get out of the house on time! At least I was able to burn the frustration off already 😂😂

I started working out in the morning when I was working in corporate America because I knew I had no time to do my workout after work with all of the after school activities going on. Ya feel me mamas?! 🙋🏼
Well when I quit my job to be a #mompreneur I stopped working out early because I had all day to get it done.
But I was feeling off and more exhausted believe it or not. I wasn't able to get all the work I knew I could get done and then have time for the things I wanted to do for fun, so I went back to 5am workouts 12 1/2 weeks ago and it feels amazing to get this done early! I feel more awake and ready to take on my day. 🙌🏼
Something you may not know is that I’ve struggled with weight my entire life....early on I bounced from fad diet to diet pills to weight loss shakes - hello slim fast and hydroxycut 🙈 if it promised to give me results TODAY I was in! .
I’d lose 10 lbs quickly BUT eventually my body would shut down, I'd become ravenous and end up gaining 15 lbs, only to start that vicious yoyo cycle again 😫
When I went to try on clothes that I wore at my smallest size and couldn't even get them halfway up I lost it! I broke down and said something had to give! Have you ever felt this way? .
So what changed? How did I FINALLY get back into those clothes and not just fit in them, but have them super loose on me?? .
Honestly it took support from my virtual groups that I talk about every day! Instead of just hosting them, I became a PARTICIPANT and did all of the challenges! I posted my before photo and told them I was working out early and that accountability made all the difference for me! .
I used to be on this weight loss journey alone and always felt like I was missing out because I was always "dieting." But I found these private virtual groups where other women just like me were on this journey too and we realized we weren't alone and we could do this! That this was not a diet or a quick fix, that it was a lifestyle! And In that moment I had clarity! I had a different mindset and a positive outlook! The stress left and the inches melted! .
I get asked all the time how long i workout in order to see results and I reply "30-45 minutes" and it shocks most people! That's all I do! I don't workout for hours a day! I used to and that never worked for me!
