@quantumsquares were kind enough to send me a box of their bars to try. In the box that I received came 9 vegan, soy free, gluten free, and dairy free bars. There are two flavors that came in my box, Caffe Mocca Macchiato and Dark Chocolate Cherry. The macchiato flavor has a very distinct taste of coffee which I loved. It also had the right amount of sweetness and a great texture. The chocolate cherry wasn’t as amazing as the other flavor but it was still pretty good. I am oddly against mixing flavors so I am usually not a fan of chocolate and fruit combined (I know I’m weird) but this wasn’t bad at all. I’m definitely more of a fan of the macchiato though and it could definitely become my next obsession. There is 100mg of caffeine in each bar and I definitely felt the difference about an hour after eating it so I will probably eat them with my breakfasts and as a preworkout snack. .
Now I am off to the gym for chest and abs with my new gym partner/ sister in law. ❤️

Happy humpday fam!! Studying has officially taken over my life. NASM exam is Saturday and grad school week 2/8 for the term is halfway over. I didn’t think it was possible to study this much and still not know anything. 😅 I am still failing these NASM quizzes but am hopeful that I can pass on Saturday. I’m going to study as much as I can these last few days and we will see what happens. In the end everything happens for a reason so I will be fine with either outcome.

Tomorrow I am officially starting my cut. This time I am doing things way differently. I am going to increase cardio and try and eat healthier than I am currently. I won’t be stepping on the scale daily, weekly, or even monthly. I am not going to obsess over tracking everything that I eat. For the next several months I’m going to listen to my body and try and fuel it to the best of my ability. I am happy with the weight that I am at and I am also pretty happy with my physique. I am not satisfied with my diet or the amount of cardio that I do. I am not drinking nearly enough water and I am definitely not stretching enough. This time I am going to focus on improving other aspects of my body rather than focusing on weight. At this point all I want is to FEEL healthy and be HAPPY!

One of my favorite snacks are these protein cookie balls. They are super easy to make and are delicious. They DO NOT taste healthy at all!! 1/2 scoop @uniconutrition caramel protein powder (HOPEKR to save $), 1 cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup almond butter, sweetener of choice (I used honey), 2 tbs flax seed milk, and chocolate chips. Roll into balls and enjoy!! .

Today I finally went to the doctor and got some medicine for my throat and cough that has been going on for a little over a week now. I am so ready for this stuff to be gone! 🙌🏻 I started classes on Monday and have my first 6 hour face to face class on Saturday. I am excited to learn more about school counseling. I also ended up rescheduling my NASM exam to the 20th in hopes that the extra study time will do me good. So far I’m not doing the best. I am a bit of a perfectionist though! Bulking doesn’t have to be scary. Last bulk I loaded myself up with a bunch of unhealthy foods and ate around 3500 calories a day. I gained mainly fat and once I cut again I didn’t look much different than I had before. This time I’ve eaten around 2500-2800 calories a day and still ate most of the foods that I would eat during my maintenance or cutting periods. I definitely still eat unhealthy foods everyday and have noticed it with  my acid reflux but the gains are so different this time! I’ve slowly been gaining weight and have noticed way more progress with my lifts as well as my physique this round. I currently only weigh myself once every month or so and have been focused on how my body is reacting instead of the scale. I see my leg gains and I see my stomach staying relatively lean and I know that I am eating enough and that I’m progressing. Listen to your body. Learn from your past mistakes and crush your goals! .

The number 1 thing that I’ve learned in the last three years when setting goals is that you need to set obtainable goals. So this year I made an obtainable goal list as well as a pretty far out there list just for fun. While I most likely won’t hit those crazy goals (like buy my dream car), It was still fun to make. Maybe I’ll turn that list into a 5 year plan. 😆

While writing down my goals for 2018 I am going to make a list of my 2017 goals that I completed along with 5-10 of my favorite moments from the year. Starting the new year with a positive mindset is so important. If you had a bad 2017 instead of focusing on the negatives think about your favorite moments from the year. Squeeze the booty throughout. If you don’t feel the burn squeeze more or do more weight! 🍑💪🏻 I like to start my glute days with heavy Squats and glute activation exercises. I did those prior to filming this video. Hip circles are amazing for glute activation! .

Where did these leg gains come from? 😱 January 2016 to today! It’s crazy what an entire year can do! If you feel like you aren’t making any progress I promise that you are! It could be mental progress or physical progress and they are equally as important. I get a lot of ladies that message me asking why they aren’t making progress. There are so many reasons why you might not be making progress but sometimes you just aren’t noticing it. I’ve stayed in the sam pant size these last 3 years (including pregnancy). My weight has fluctuated by 30 pounds but I look similar at different weights and most people wouldn’t be able to tell. Take measurements, take weekly or monthly progress pictures, step away from the scale for a while, and try to be aware of how you are feeling. There are so many ways that you can make progress. Try not to get yourself down and just keep pushing! .

A few workouts from tonight’s back and core workout. I did these four exercises in a circuit with 3 rounds and 15-20 reps of each. I complete each round without any rest between exercises then take a 2 minute rest between rounds. I usually only do abs once or twice a week for 20-30 minutes. .

Had a pretty good arm workout tonight and finished with 30 minutes of yoga. I have noticed a huge improvement in my flexibility already and I haven’t been doing yoga often. I am really making yoga a priority and I’ve noticed both flexibility progress and mental progress. I always feel happy and refreshed after a yoga session. Tonight it even helped to get rid of my head ache! 🙌🏻 Stretching is so important and I’ve always slacked or skipped it all together. On another note I can’t believe that it’s almost Christmas weekend! 😱 Time just flies! I am finishing up last minute gift wrapping tonight and then I am all ready for this busy weekend. ❤️
