Ok, I’ll share one! 😆 loving the pose, the mood, the styling...and I guess the makeup and hair are cool, too. ☺️

Isn’t she stunning?! Beautiful Hartley, for her bridal trial today.
Skin is @maccosmetics softening toner & strobe cream; @beccacosmetics backlit primer; @ctilburymakeup foundation & @narsissist radiant concealer. @hourglasscosmetics ambient powder for the glow; @narsissist diffused bronzer. Lips are @maccosmetics liquid lipstick in Unchanging and lip liner in Staunchly Stylish. Blush and shadows are a million different things, ha! Love this look and her incredible (natural!) lashes!
Im so proud of this girl! She is such a natural, even though it was her first time modeling and had some nerves. Thank you, @reesephotog for taking these photos today!
Makeup & Hair: @irisandgold
Photographers, agencies, look out! @heffnermanagement @smgmodels @tcmmodels @imgmodels @wilhelminamodels !!
Prepping my niece for her first test shoot today! I used the @limecrimemakeup Venus II palette and a little bit of @anastasiabeverlyhills Renaissance palette on her eyes; @chanelofficial, @narsissist, and @coverfx on her skin; @gressaskin lip boost in Bella on her lips; and @urbandecaycosmetics blush in Video. Excited to share some #bts soon...
Sometimes you smudge black liner on the bottom lid, throw on some @maccosmetics strobe cream and that's the magic of makeup. It's there to bring life to a story, make an emphatic statement or gently whisper one. This is my fourth shoot with @jessalinbeutlerline, and I'm always honored and excited to translate what they want to say, even with just a touch of makeup.

Loved this one for so long...the crazy shirt, the disheveled eye makeup -- all of it -- yet never shared it. Well, here we are.
Whenever I post my work, I lose followers, lol, so let's see what happens with my mug...
In a nod to the wonderfully talented and oh-so-beautiful @katiejanehughes, I give to you my unedited face. Hello, all those who follow along and support my work. I've never really "introduced" myself, so here it goes...
I'm 33, I'm a mom to a daughter and a son, I've been married to the best guy for almost 8 years in September, I love Jesus, I put my whole heart into this pursuit of makeup/art/beauty....I'm sensitive, intense, but I love to laugh. The War On Drugs is my favorite band. In the past, I've edited out all my imperfections/wrinkles/zits, but I love what Katie said about giving people realistic images about makeup. I'm not a magician nor am I forever young. But I change and transform myself and people with the power of makeup. June was full of challenges but it's amazing how hard things truly do make you stronger.
So there it is. Thank you for looking at, supporting, and encouraging my work. Thank you for the criticism, too. ❤️
What makeup artist ever gets lucky enough to have a bride ask to wear yellow, or some other fabulously bright color on her eyes?! I did today with beautiful Megan! I didn't have yellow with me (I keep that separate with all my creative makeup) but we're going to change it up for the actual wedding day. Here's a sneak peek of the trial.
Maybe you didn't notice, but I took a much needed break from Instagram -- again. I can't help having this really sensitive soul, which doesn't play well with the industry I'm in. But this woman, Lucinda Chambers, she is my hero! In lieu of some pretty scathing things posted about me on social media today, I wanted to share this uplifting conversation with this incredible woman who worked for Vogue for 25 years and was fired in an instant. She talks about failing, encouraging people you work with, the fickle nature of the beauty industry, and how we're no longer allowed to fail because of the façade social media places before us. Here's the link (Link in profile)
But I want to leave you with two brilliant pieces from Lucinda:
"If you want good results, you have to support people. You don’t get the best out of anyone by making them feel insecure or nervous. Ultimately, that way of treating people is only about control. If you make someone feel nervous, you’ve got them. But in my view, you’ve got them in the wrong way. You’ve got them in a state of anxiety. I’m thinking of one fashion editor in particular: it’s his modus operandi. He will wrong-foot you and wrong-foot you, and have everyone going, ‘Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit."
"You’re not allowed to fail in fashion – especially in this age of social media, when everything is about leading a successful, amazing life. Nobody today is allowed to fail, instead the prospect causes anxiety and terror. But why can’t we celebrate failure? After all, it helps us grow and develop. I’m not ashamed of what happened to me. If my shoots were really crappy… Oh I know they weren’t all good – some were crappy."
Be encouraged today: if you're feeling dispensable, replaceable, if you've failed or made mistakes, if you received intimidation and control from those you thought would support you, you're not alone! It's happening in the upper eschelons of fashion all the way down to little ole me. It happens everyday to everyone. (Finished in comment section.)
I didn't even look at when Instagram suggests I post this photo...and I know you can't really see her makeup but I don't even care. This photo is MAGIC! It's one of those moments you can feel, taste...I had the pleasure of doing this gorgeous bride's makeup a couple weeks ago. Kristen, you are radiant, kind, but fiery! James is an incredible ballet dancer for the @pacificnorthwestballet. Together, they're electric. Isn't love so mysterious and wonderful?✨ Indescribably stellar photo by the talented @littlealejandra. Hair by the lovely @alisha.doug. Such a good team.
Shared on my story but love her so much, let's share it again! Little bit of what I used...
Skin prep/foundation. Hydrating shea butter sheet mask and @veilcosmetics Sunset Veil primer. Foundation is a mixture of @tomford liquid foundation and @chanelofficial vitalumiere.
Blush: @tomford Frantic Pink.
Bronzer: @benefitcosmetics Hoola
Eyes: @gressa eye tint in Charbon as shimmery blackish-grey/gunmetal color, and @katvondbeauty monarch palette.
Highlight: @benefitcosmetics High Beam first then @thebalm_cosmetics Mary Lou-Manizer over the top.
Lips: My absolute new favorite! I'm sure I'm late to the game, but this is a glossy, long-wear/doesn't transfer, amazing color pay off lip stain from @ysl. Number 47 in this gorgeous watermelony-coral shade. It's moisturizing but it lasts! Dream formula. It was the bride's, so naturally I went out and immediately bought it post-wedding. Alex, you were perfect!
