On the weekends, I feed my husband whisky & white rice. On the weekdays, we eat brownies made with zucchini and sweet potatoes. That's what I call balance. Now that I have an old husband, I have to keep his fountain of youth overflowing. #cleaneating #weekdayeating #healthy #glutenfree #grainfree #meatlessmonday #veggiebrownies #notyourgrandmasbrownies #40isthenew20
Going to need a bottomless cup to get through today #coffee #onceinawhile

Tuesday's Thoughts: Saying “Yes” to “No”
Almost everyone that I’ve spoken to or coached that has some type of health issue went through a major stressful event that happened right before their health crashed. Therefore, I believe stress is the enemy! By this, I believe we need to say “yes” to certain things. “Yes” to loving and forgiving ourselves, “Yes” to being kind and compassionate (including ourselves) , “Yes” to reaching our goals. "Yes" to taking care of ourselves and putting us first. With any autoimmune disease, stress is not our friend. And when we stress, it triggers our symptoms. Energy is an important commodity when we have an autoimmune disease therefore we need to use it wisely. To do this, we need to learn to say “yes” to “no” . It’s ok to say “no” . Say “no” to your kids. As parents we overextend ourselves to make our children happy but sometimes a “no” won’t hurt them. Say “no” to over demanding relatives or friends. . “No” has such a negative connotation that we are afraid to let someone down. Saying “no” to that text message,Facebook alert that pops up, or responding to emails on your smartphone. . Saying "no" means that you are saying “yes" to other things. By learning this technique, we are giving ourselves the space to truly heal and I’m sure most of our loved ones would want that. #icanddohardthings #selfcare #selfgrowth #selfcareisbesthealthcare #loveyourself #stressisabitch #healthcoach #healthjourney #primaryfood #autoimmunedisease #shorthairdontcare photo cr: @djgreddy
