I have a total of 3 painful injuries that are hampering my binding and sewing ( I wiped up most of the blood) (gashes along with tendinitis)😩 I’m really glad I found my #bloclocruler though. I might give up and go make risotto.
Look!! @sew_stephanie sent me this wonderful mini! I love it so much. We met here on IG a few years ago, and recognized that we are kindred spirits. These bright scissors will bring happiness every day. Thank you so much, Stephanie! Sorry for the tragic lighting...rain is coming soon!
I made a mini quilt with my leftover wool from #retrofarmhousewoolbom by @figtreeandco . We received plenty of this pretty wool and I enjoyed the appliqué so much I had to do more. Swipe for closeup. I made up the design and named it Colorforms, because it reminds me of my favorite childhood toy, #colorformsbrand
This is the backing for the #bluerkblocks quilt I am assembling. I was very apprehensive about matching the pattern, but it had to be done. I did it! @craftycop you have no idea how pleased I am. Thank you for sending this backing so I was forced to try a new skill.
When one of my favorite people in the world breaks her hip, I sew. Obviously she needed a throw quilt to help her heal. Fortunately I had a #laconnerfabric layer cake waiting for her. The colors and prints are perfect for my friend. @fatquartershop rushed the border and binding fabric to me, so it only took 5 days from start to finish. I am usually very slow, so I'm very pleased!
Yay!! My box of #bluerkblocks arrived from @craftycop ! I'm going to piece the top, quilt it on a Longarm machine at @meissnersewingandvacuum , and hand bind the finished quilt. My dad worked his way up the ranks in the Sheriff's department for 30+ years. I was fortunate that he was never seriously hurt on the job. My appreciation and gratitude will be sewn into the quilt with every stitch. I'm honored to be given this opportunity. Thank you, Jessica!
I'm assembling my #iheartbandcsamplerbee#stingingstitchers and #darlingdozen blocks FINALLY!! I have 25 blocks for the top, and 10 blocks for the back. It's making me teary, I think because I didn't realize how much sewing reminds me of my mom. She died 3 weeks ago and it's hard. She made me a Winnie The Pooh when I was little and I loved it so much. Maybe that's why I learned to sew. I don't know. It's hard. It's sad.
#2017bandcmostrequestedcharmswap @stefaniewilliams Here is my package, off in the mail for group 4. There is a HGL extra in there to try to make up for the package arriving a day late. I do apologize, Stefanie.
I keep finding new areas to quilt. This quilt taught me how to use a thimble. I received this gold thimble from my great-aunt 40 years ago. I believe it's about 100 years old now. I'm glad I finally learned how to use it! #retrofarmhousewoolbom
This #retrofarmhousewoolbom quilt makes me happy. I decided to do it because I loved the colors of the wool, and I wanted to try something to make me accountable each month. I did every month as soon as it came in the mail. I loved learning appliqué, loved learning to work with the wool. Ms Figgy, @figtreeandco , is kind and patient with questions and has great ideas! I loved working with #aurifloss . After machine quilting some of the quilt, I decided to figure out hand quilting with #aurifil Floss. (blocks on top still need a little). I love it all, even though this isn't my typical style. I've become quite attached to this quilt.
