@craftycop and I have been so excited to see all the families participating in the #justonebluerkblock campaign. I am having a drawing for all the families that participate. The winning family will receive a $50 gift card of their choice. *Family will be defined in the broadest terms possible. Blood and convention have no place here!* @craftycop will provide me with a list of families that have sent in blocks and have posted pictures on Instagram. #bluerkblocks .
I want to thank all law enforcement officers 👮🏻♀️👮🏼♂️for ALL that you do. I truly appreciate the sacrifices that each and every officer makes. You run towards danger as we run away. You place your life on the line time after time. “Thank you” seems inadequate but I do thank you. 💙💙💙
Do you want to make a bluerkblock for #justonebluerkblock to help out a really amazing project and be entered in a drawing for either of these prizes but don’t have the fabric? Well, I have precut 22 bundles. All you have to do is promise you will send @craftycop at least 1 bluerkblock. Remember there is a separate prize for men and women. Check out #bluerkblocks Need more info, please let @craftycop or I know. If you would like one, please send me a DM.
Bluerkblocks quilt top pieced✅ Backing pieced ✅ Binding made and loaded onto Police Officer Binding Baby✅ This was accomplished on December 31, 2017 and January 1, 2018. What a great way to end a year and begin a new one. I can’t think of a more perfect project to d#o this with. #bluerkblocks#bindingbabies @craftycop @doohikeydesigns
I finished piecing the #bluerkblocks top (I will post a better picture tomorrow). While I was sewing the blocks together I felt the overwhelming need to make this top perfect - at least to the best of my ability. This quilt is so important to me and the rest of the #bluerkblocks family. If you don’t know about the bluerkblocks project please check out the hashtag #bluerkblocks . This quilt is being made for the family of a fallen police officer. Hopefully it will never be needed. If you would like to participate please DM @craftycop or send me a message. Every block helps.
I just sewed the label on block 42 of the #bluerkblocks quilt top. With each stitch I thought about the family that this quilt was intended for, hoping at the same time that it would never needed. If you have not heard about this project to make quilts for families of fallen police officers, please check out #bluerkblocks hashtag. This an amazing project started by @craftycop that I am proud to be a part of. If you would like to participate you can send @craftycop a DM for details, her account is private or send me a message here or DM me. I would be happy to send you fabric for the blocks.
Wow! I can’t believe all the emotions that went through me as I got my package from @craftycop out of the mail box. I felt awe knowing that many fellow quilters had poured love into each #bluerkblocks they sewed. I felt trepidation- wondering if I could do justice to them when I assemble those 42 blocks. I also felt immense sadness knowing why I was making this quilt. It really hit home this week when a police officer from nearby El Mirage died as he was pursuing a suspect. He was 10 months away from retiring after being on the force for 17 years. This why we make these quilts all the while hoping that they will never be needed. I am also excited to have the opportunity to put together a quilt for an amazing project. Thanks Jessica for letting me be a part of this.
I finished the 2 quilts I was working on and took the obligatory pictures on the beach. The two quilts are for my nieces. They were almost identical except for the colors of the hearts, backing and binding. I was able to give them to them today.
