Last Friday I attended a lecture in the loveliest upper library of a book store and now I just keep thinking about how much I truly enjoyed some of my classes back in school, and how I need to do more things like this. Anyone in Toronto have recommendations?
It's bittersweet to go home after such a fun weekend in New York City with this girl. I'm glad I could experience the crazy but always entertaining life of a Brooklynite over the last few days and can't wait to come back!
On Sunday night we decided to skip a party to go make dinner with some other friends and it turned into a surprisingly memorable night. Even though the pasta didn't turn out quite as expected (funny story) we ate it all, then sat around drinking red wine and listening to records. No one kept track of the time or number of glasses, which eventually led to a cuddle puddle and staying awake talking until the early morning. 💛
Another highlight from my time in Brooklyn was getting to attend a philosophy class about existential lonliness and discuss how technology and drugs play a role in people's lives. The topic may sound heavy but getting to meet and talk with others in this airy co-working space was so refreshing. The key takeaway for me was to focus less on myself and my own importance and more on how I relate to things and people around me. Learning to give up control and be more outwardly-focused is definitely a process but the effort is well worth it. #Growth#LiveInTheMoment
I can't sleep because I can't stop thinking about all lovely, unexpected moments from this Brooklyn weekend, including brunch featuring the most fun Gospel band. At one point the lead singer even dragged me up on stage to sing along - I simply couldn't say no! Left feeling so happy from the music and delicious food. 10/10 would return. #ComfortFood#SoulMusic#PureHappiness
Went to a prom-themed birthday party in Brooklyn last night and much like real prom, countless photos were taken, though getting everyone to look at the camera was a challenge. 😂
