This is Lucky's wife. She has three children one just a small baby. All living nestled between the mine dumps at the Crown Mine Interchange. No electricity. No water. They have dogs and an enormous pig. She told me it's a lovely quiet place to live, no problems. #streetphotography#jozi#shack
Meet Lucky. He is from Polokwane. For 11 years he has lived in this shack below the Crown Mine interchange nestled between some of the oldest nine dumps in Johannesburg. He breeds Greyhounds for extra money. #streetphotography#jozi
I always thought Mandela Square in Sandton was just a blatant attempt to cash in on the Mandela name. Then I noticed this scene where the great man seems to be smiling down on the children playing in the fountains. I imagine he might be happy with that as an afterlife. #johannesburg#mandela#sandton
I was wandering around central Joburg when this guy asked me for money for food. He looked hungry. A little down on his luck. I gave him money and asked if I could take his photo. He wasn't so happy about the trade I think. #streetphotography#johannesburg
Mr Victor Dlamini standing at the entrance to his studio and gallery in the old Fort on Constitution Hill. It is well worth visiting this fascinating man if you would like to see his collection of West African art, listen to a great selection of vinyl and view his portrait photography. Tell him I sent you.
I think this is the burnt out ruin of the old Dungeon Club in downtown Joburg. It was famous in the 1980's when I lived in Hillbrow. Am I correct? Who remembers this place? #blackandwhite#Jozi#gayclub#ruin#downtown
