Woman Crush Wednesday. I’m crushing on myself. I struggle with my self worth, being of value and liked by others. But today- and as best I can going forward- I am standing in my power, embracing all that I am. I am fucking awesome. I am kind and funny and ridiculous. I am smart and confident and strong. I am emotional and sensitive and vulnerable. I am sexy and lovely and kinky. I am fallible and anxious and imperfect. I am of worth. I am here. I am me. ❤️ #wcw#selfworth#selfesteem#selfcare

Let’s talk about eggs on #WorldEggDay .
In the egg industry male chicks are a byproduct and they serve no use to the industry. So as soon as they are hatched they are thrown by the thousands into industrial grinders where they are minced alive. These are newborn babies, imagine if we did this to newborn humans. Think of the confusion and fear these chicks feel as they are callously thrown on a conveyor belt and dropped into a whirring grinder.
Other methods of killing male chicks include gassing them using CO2 or drowning them.
All male chicks are killed regardless of whether the egg is produced by a caged battery chicken or in a free-range system. If you eat eggs you are paying for the mass murder of baby chicks.
If you eat free-range eggs, you are still contributing to the abuse, enslavement and mass murder of hens. Like caged hens, free-range hens have their beaks seared off using a hot blade, without any anaesthetic and the majority spend their entire lives indoors.
Many hens can’t cope with the stress of being genetically modified to produce 300 eggs per year instead of the 10 - 15 they would produce in nature, leading to them becoming malnourished and dying from starvation or organ failure.
After the hens are spent, normally after 72 weeks of unrelenting suffering they are thrown into crates and transported to the slaughterhouse, before being hung upside down and having their throats slit on a rotating blade. Some hens survive this ordeal and are submerged in boiling hot water whilst still alive and are boiled alive.
If you eat eggs then this is what you are paying for. There are alternatives available, be vegan.
#flashback to 3 1/2 years ago. This was my very first disruption. Look at how daintily I’m holding the placard! 😆 Much has happened since this day; good, bad and ugly... But one thing remains steadfast, I am here to fight for the rights of animals. To help end their use, exploitation, torture and slaughter. There is nothing I would rather spend my time doing. Actually, I don’t have a choice... I can’t not fight for them. I am so grateful to all the humans- and nonhuman animals- I’ve met over these past couple years- I can’t wait for all that is to come! ❤️👊🏻❤️ #friendsnotfood#untileveryanimalisfree#disruption#dxe#directactioneverywhere#activism
