THANK YOU SO MUCH to the Institute of Medical Science and Wellness Subcommittee for inviting me to get buchy with you last night! Your questions and enthusiasm made it such a fun demo.
Special thanks to @anjalivig for organizing the venue and helping me find my way to it...and Lauren for kicking the night off with some yoga and for your kind words 😘
You guys are doing such great things together! Enjoy caring for Theresa and experimenting with your own homemade brew 🍄
MOVE WITH ME MONDAY
TAKE A REST DAY ON A MONDAY
because yesterday the 30 Day Runner's High Challenge officially ended!
BIG, HUGE, LOVE INFUSED HIGH FIVES to everyone who embarked on this challenge! Together we created the most supportive run community (dare I say...ever) to span across Canada, coast to freakin coast!
The amount of messages I've received about how positive this challenge has affected you guys makes this one of the coolest things I've done all year. The focus on the mental and emotional benefits of running means the world to me, and watching everyone set and crush individual goals (within a goal!) was incredible.
This challenge was a blast, these shirts are sick (huge thanks to @evanbonddesign and @presstimedesign - you guys are awesome), and I am beyond looking forward to doing it all over again in the spring with an even bigger crew!
So if you missed out don't fret! See ya in a couple months when the weather warms up ✌🏼
This is my friend Tara. She's an amazing woman who you can't help but connect with the moment you meet her. She recently shared a really personal account of her daily battle with Chronic Neurological Lyme disease, and the link is in my bio. Please go read and, if you can, donate. The treatment Tara needs is ridiculously expensive but even more important. She's the one doing all the hard work, but maybe we can help lessen the burden, even a little. @healing_from_lyme @tarasmithphoto
MOVE WITH ME MONDAY
Yesterday marked my last run of the 30 Day Runner's High Challenge 🙊
30 RUNS IN 30 DAYS!
And I finished it off with this wolf strapped to my waist.
I'm so proud of myself and every other runner for pushing through the rainy, snowy and unmotivated days to get out and move!
I feel like a stronger, faster and smarter runner than I was 30 days ago. The challenge pulled me out of a run funk and put the excitement and rewarding feeling back into my stride.
Within the next 15 days everyone will be finishing up and earning that club shirt 💪🏼
So today I'm going to rest my leggies and watch everyone else keep crushing it towards the goal.
If you missed this challenge, or want to do it all again, stay tuned for another one this spring! It feels oh so good to be a part of such a supportive community of runners, join us 💕
Picked up this little beauty today 😍
For years I used antiperspirants containing aluminum (most do), which work to clog up the pores in your armpits to prevent sweating. Of course, this sounded great to teenage nervous sweating me!
But what this clogging also does is prevent toxins from being removed from your body through your sweat. And the thought of clogging up toxins near my chest...NO SIR.
This beautifully packaged, wonderfully smelling @florahue deodorant was the first one I ever tried.
At first, making the switch gave me a rash and red bumps as my body worked to detox years of conventional deodorants. But after that awkward period was over my skin became less sensitive to the baking soda and it has worked like a charm ever since!
Kristen, the maker behind this dreamy brand, is even working on a baking soda free version which would be a great formula to start off on! Plus trying out a new deodorant is always best done in the winter, amiright.
Support local and love your pits people! This stuff's important.
Because the 30 Day Runner's High has become so much more than just running.

P.M.A. Positive Mental Attitude. This has been the words I've been trying to live by in 2017. For those interested, I've been doing a 30 day run challenge with a group of old/new friends, it has been incredibly inspiring for me, I have pushed myself harder than I ever have before. I am truly amazed how powerful my mind is when I decide to see the world with a positive outlook. A special thanks to @movewithguts for being such an inspiring human 🤙
Mid run snack break 🍊
Running longer than 90min definitely requires a snack half way through.
If you feel depleted during your long runs, bring along some quick carbs like (ripe!!!) bananas, organic medjool dates (my go to), or clementines (because they're in season and so good right now!). Grab anything that is a quick natural sugar source and is easy on your belly.
PSA: This can take some trial and error which is best to do during slightly shorter runs so you're not stuck far from home during an emergency 💩💩💩
Not only will it give you the boost you need but sugar honestly tastes even better after crushing the first half of your run when your body needs it most 👌🏼
PS. This is Day 25.
MOVE WITH ME MONDAY
and it feels so good.
Run 24/30 today means I'm 6 days away from having a 30 Day Runner's High 🔥
This past week was full of winter gear, dead phone batteries, mini snowfalls, group runs, accidental 12ks, and longest personal runs by the club!
Not sure if I could've kept up this motivation and positivity if it wasn't for 20 of my friends (new and old!) joining in 😘
Pushing for my longest run this week! How are you going to get out and MOVE?
MOVE WITH ME MONDAY
Hello day 17/30, I love you.
I've been feeling so strong and even more motivated over the past week. I definitely thought that by the second half of this challenge I would start to lose my drive, but (thankfully!) it's the opposite.
I've created sub goals within my goal (maybe excessive, I don't know) and this mornings run felt amazing. Seeing improvements in my running alongside a group of badass committed runners is the best.
And I'm so pumped to see the community we've created through the 30 Day Runner's High Club!
Partner runs, 1:30am treadmill runs while watching Moana (you know who you are), puppy runs and some of the best run pictures I've ever seen. So cool 👌🏼
So whether you're part of the challenge or not, get out and move your sweet sweet bod today! It feels damn good.
on everything. Because they have this great subtle nutty flavour and are a bangin natural source of iron, magnesium and protein. All needed for post run refuel and relaxation (hint hint to my 30 Day Runner's High Club)!
Pop em in your smoothie, on top of salads, toast, soups, cereal, oatmeal, popcorn, stir fries, pasta, whatever!
And a little insiders tip: you can pick up a bag of the local good stuff for 20% at @gojiberryhealth right now👌🏼
Pick one meal a day, sprinkle on a tablespoon and let me know what you think!
