Start your day with a bounty of @85cbakerycafe pastries. A big fan of this place ever since I first discovered them in their Irvine, CA location many moons ago. What are these? Don’t really know but they be tasty.
Comfort food at home... a rustic chunky beanless chili with made with lots of tomato, onion, several different peppers, and chunky sirloin. Add some fresh onions, cheese, sour cream and dip your chips. It’s more dip than chili but sure is tasty.
Back in the US from two weeks in Europe (Geneva and Rome) so of course I have to get my Vietnamese food first thing. Plus, my brunching is usually asian food. First time having Bo Kho and loved dipping the bread in (like French dip) the broth. They have the noods version and will try that next so stay tuned. You have to get down MLK in south Seattle for this one.
I didn't realize that I'm staying in the 'posh' area given the number of 'posh' restaurants. This may be one of them... for the secondi is parmigiana de pesce (seafood parmesean). Very very good.

This is the place the local Expedia team always take the out of towners. This happens to be the second time here for me but I remember last time it was very very good and this time I enjoyed it even more.
Carbonara is from Rome and doesn't necessarily need to be served with spaghetti noodle. After all, this isn't the Spaghetto. The bacon was so crispy and salty. There is never supposed to be milk or cream in carbonara. Just cheese and egg. Every bite will make your eyes roll into the back of your head.
This place is traditional Roman food. Cuisine varies around Italy like it does in China
How is this not a bigger thing in the US. Fresh baked Focaccia like bread cut in half with some of the filling taken out then stuffed with your choice of filling for €3.50 each. One is eggplant Parmesan style and he other Picchiapò which is a beaded beef in tomato sauce.
When in Rome... Roman pizza. One is anchovies and celery. The other is spicy nduja. Both were crispy, light, fully of flavor and no short of delicious. Hey cut you off from the pie and charged by weight - Only €4,50 for both of these.
Another sampling from @princi which opened today at the @starbucksroastery. You know I’m going to be behind anything egg or tomato sauce based so when I saw this, certainly love at first sight. Giving The Fat Hen a bit of competition.

@princi opened today at the @starbucksroastery on Pike. Last week I was invited with a few other fellow Seattle food connoisseurs to check out the space and sample their treats. Everything is executed masterfully and such a beautiful space. Their foccocia based pizza has these excellent roasted peppers or buffalo mozzarella on them.
Impressive and delicious and if you get to see that sbux airport ticker machine in the Roastery.
Had to finish up the baecon this weekend so 🏭 BLT.E Factory produced a special edition model with not just one but two eggs on it. Also came with gold emblem package, heated seats, and auto-dimming mirrors.
While a slice of Costco pizza will set you back $1.99, your visit will often set you back the same with a couple more 0’s after. Random furry pillow? Check. 2 giant bottles of mouthwash? Check. Free sample leading to purchase dumplings? Check. The list goes on...
I’m just sad they ruined the pepperoni in the top left corner with the tongs to grab the slice otherwise it would have been almost the perfect emoji 🍕
Pho So 1 where the Bun Bo Hue reigns supreme. There’s something about th flavor of their version that I can’t get out of my head and haven’t found a place that has such a great texture to the flavor as here.

Bonus, because I’m old, they open early for people like me who wake up early. They open at 8am. Sometimes not early enough 🧐
Pizza is lyfe and this is from none other than @pagliaccipizza in wsea. Built my own half and half with all parts of delicious things like pepperoni, sausage, roasted garlic, shrooms, fresh mozza, and arugula.
🧐 Pro tip: order the crust well done so it’s nice and crispy.
